Probably I have just missed it, but how do I adjust the default setting of brightness. I have a Clevo 570 RU.
Edit: As the topic says, the default setting for battery use. I know how to adjust brightness, but I don't want to do that every f-n time I unplug the computer. Please help!

You can use the Brightness toggles. I think its Fn+F7 and Fn+F8
-
I wonder how to adjust the default setting for battery use, I know how to set brightness. Thank you anyway, I was not clear enough in the text above.

gz you can go to the windows mobility center. then click on the screen brightness image and you can adjust it for both on battery and plugged in. you can click on the battery icon in your tray or find it in control panel somewhere.

Hotkey for windows mobility center: [Windows Key] + [X]
-
Thank you, but unfortunately I do not have that option in my Windows Mobility Center. The option for brightness is missing.
Should have attached a picture of my version but it seems I can't? -
First Rclick battery icon in your tray and go to power options and look for this
and click on the adjust the display brightness..and then the next window should be what you are looking for
make sure you left click on the battery icon in your tray frist and slect the one you want to change befor going in to the power options. -
Is this for Vista only? Doesn't work for me on XP
-
Yes, Windows Mobility Center is Vista only... I'm not sure how to change brightness settings in XP.
Sorry! -
Doesn't work for me in Vista - that option doesn't show up in the Power Options ot in the Mobility Center
-
Try NHC or RMclock
-
Very good answer, thank you. Unfortunately I do not have that option. I guess it is the same as for the Mobility Center, they collect their data from the same place probably?
So what is wrong? Why doesn't the brightness option turn up in the Mobility Center and under the power options either?
Could it be my graphics driver? I don' have the original due to major gaming issues for the official driver. -
take a screen shot of what you got if possible. right now am at a lost but you might not have power management software install from your manufacture for or laptop. my bro. said he did not have it on his (NP5793)until he did a clean install of the OS and all the drivers and utilities.

It wouldn't be graphics, this would be your chipset drivers. Brightness is hardwired to the motherboard itself for all intents and purposes.
-
The option for brightness just isn't showing. Attached picture.

Hmm...I did update the chip driver a while ago. Maybe that version wasn't right for my computer even though it should.
I actually think I could adjust the default brightness before, but I'm not sure. -
Perhaps try rolling back the driver or better yet, reinstall the same/newer one?
