Hello! This is my first post (hopefully in the right sub-forum) on this forum although I've been lurking around for more than a year :)

I've almost decided to purchase a P150EM from Malibal (after a long wait and research). There is one huge problem though - the warranty. As I live in the EU (Bulgaria) I have the serviced in the EU option but my limited budget means that I will have to sacrifice a lot in terms of performance. So I opened a ticket and it turns out the default warranty is OK but I have to ship the laptop to the US. And shipping is of course costly (surprisingly costly actually) :) I should get to the point now...

I will probably have the laptop delivered to a friend in the US after purchase as he is coming to Bulgaria in a few weeks and can bring it to me. In that regard I would like to ask about the zero dead pixel warranty. How much time should I expect to wait for a change if needed? Also if I purchase a Windows with my laptop will it be installed when I (in this case my friend) receive it (so he can test the display)?

Sorry for the long and somewhat confusing post. As you can guess even I lose my own train of thought at times. I guess I'm overthinking it... Anyway, any advice would be greatly appreciated :)

If you get windows with your laptop then yes, it will be installed. Most dead pixels show up within the first week or so, so your friend should be able to spot any. Regarding delivery time, you'll need to post your config for that :)
Also, why didn't you order from a Eurozone reseller?

Have to agree. Why bother ordering from the USA, when there are plenty of resellers in Europe? If there are warranty issues, it's really going to cost you in shipping and time.

I thought about it a lot but I have 2 reasons against buying from an european reseller. Firstly - reputation (after a lot of reading of reviews). And secondly - even if I buy from Malibal and have to pay for shipment for repairs later it will still be less (or about the same) compared to buying it from the EU. Prices here are waaay bigger.

What about tax? You have to look if that is included in the price and how much you would have to pay if you import.

Basically I'm saving shipping costs this way. Tax is paid on arrival here in Bulgaria.
