Hello,
Well I managed to save up for awhile and am planning on spending around $2000-2500 on a good notebook, and had a few questions that Im hoping some seasoned notebookreview forumers and/or retailers could help me out with.
I've decided to go for a gaming laptop (most probably Sager NP8170 / Clevo P170HM) given the release of the 580m. After doing some pretty extensive research, these questions Im still foggy about:
1. Ive narrowed my choices down to Sager, XoticPC, Malibal and Mythlogic. Now Ive come to know that Mythlogic builds their stuff in-house, whilst these other manufacturers source them to Sager anyway? Is that fact worth the extra $200-odd that Mythlogic charges on their system? Also why not order from Sager direct since these other retailers build there stuff there anyway?
2. Why is it that only XoticPC have the 90% NTSC Color Gamut screen option on the NP8170/ P170HM build while these other retailers do not? Is it because its not worth the upgrade? Or is it that there is no discernible difference when compared with the stock screen? I like my screen to be detailed and vivid, and if the screen upgrade will bring that around, Im all for it.
3. Should I wait for the Clevo P180 release? (some pics of clevo p180) Im thinking bigger chassis-->better heat dissipation and bigger screen. And any idea as to when this will be out?
4. This is quite important: I live in a tropical country. How would a Sager NP8170 / Clevo P170HM hold up say with Intel 2820QM, 580m, 8GB, ICD7, no overclocking and with ambient temps around 27-28c? Is it a bad idea?
Any help with this will be so very helpful. I can then finally move onto actually ordering my PCthanks in advance
