Hi again guys,
Last year you helped me choose my clevo. I had gotten the p170em with 7970. I ordered it in May and got it in June due to the gpu shortage at the time. I sold it now and I'm looking to get a new high end gaming clevo. I bought the previous one from mysn.de and it was shipped to me in Greece . Very satisfied overall but in a year a lot can change. There might be new retailers with better prices. First I want to figure out the new configuration and then I'll figure out where to buy it from.
Please tell me witch is the best clevo out there and the gpu-cpu-hdd-ram combination you recommend. 17 inch is what I'm looking for and my budget is around 1700 €.
Thanks in advance.

Stick to your Asus until Haswell comes out.

Why did you sell your P170EM if you don't mind me asking? If you're wanting a substantial upgrade, your only choices would be the P370EM or P570WM, and the P570WM is out of your price range. You could get a P370EM with 7970m cfx and 3740QM/3840QM, but if you get the 3840QM would leave you without any room for RAM/HDD upgrades.
Personally though, I'd avoid the P370EM, especially with 7970m cfx. I've read too many threads about temperatures issues (especially with the slave GPU) and the limited BIOS doesn't lend itself well to tweaking/overclocking. If I had to chose a Clevo within your budget, it would be a P170EM with a 680m, 3840QM, 16gb 1600mhz, and a Samsung 840 Pro (256 or 512gb) with a 500gb 7200rom hdd for storage. Unfortunately it's not much of an upgrade from your previous setup. -

I sold the laptop in October. Let me tell you the short story.
In the summer between April and October I work in a Greek island. It's a small place with a small desk so I can't put a desktop so I use a laptop. Between October and April I live in Athens where I have a kickass desktop so I never use the notebook. It's a shame to leave a powerful notebook like this laying around especially with my young kids playing around with it with their peanut butter sticky fingers. So I get a new laptop in the beginning of the season and sell it a bit cheaper at the end. For instance my last notebook I bought 1700 and sold for 1200.

I actually had an NP9150 with 7970m, and I'm sold mine for around $1200 too. I was thinking about going with a desktop as well, but I ended up with the M18x and couldn't be happier.
Back on topic, one issue with getting a new Clevo is resale value. Once you're ready to sell in October, Haswell will be out and you'll take a big hit when you sell. The problem is Haswell and the new GPUs won't be out until July at the earliest, so you'd be without a laptop for a couple months if you decided to wait for the new Clevos to release. Have you considered a different brand? AW notebooks tend to hold their value better than other brands from what I've seen, but they're more expensive in the beginning. I'm not sure if it's possible to order from Dell when you live in Greece though, and ordering from a reseller would be much more expensive than ordering through a Dell rep (you get up to 20% discounts when ordering by phone... I got my M18x with 4 year warranty for a little over $3k, which is about the same price as a similarly equipped NP9370.) -

Nope, Intel and all other hardware giants release the new stuff on pre-set dates.
Alienware MIGHT get first with the new video cards, though.
Its not unusual. Dell is that kind of company, which wants money and has to be one of the first who offer the high-end chips in their configs.
Around the same time, both AW and Clevo will have the new parts available.
JUST WATCH OUT FOR REBRANDS!!! I hate rebrands. Hands off that! -

Nvidia GTX 675m is 100% the same card as GTX 580m.
This is also true for GTX 670m and GTX570m.
This is not the case with the MX versions.
So watch out -they love to sell old hardware with renamed serials. -
sometimes called rebadges.
