Okay, so my old computer a Sager np8662's DC port burnt out on me a second time about a week ago and I took it to a local computer shop they told be it was going to be about 180 dollars to fix it . So i'm not sure if its even worth the money to fix it again. The first time they cut me a deal for 80 dollars mind you and this was 6 months ago. I have the money, but ill be ordering the new sagers once released mid next month. So is it really worth it or should I scrap it for pieces.

What are the rest of your specs? If you're still sporting the 260m, that's not a bad card and your tech isn't that old. But dropping a lot of money on repairs isn't always worth it either. It's really up to you whether you want to keep repairing it. You can sell it piece by piece over on the NBR marketplace and probably get at least a bit more money back that way.

It's an intel p8700, 4 gig of memory,320 gig hd, nvidia 260m.. I payed 1600 for it when I orginally bought it. But, is it worth it to repair just the dc or trying to find a replacement board.. I'm just without a computer I feel like a cave man.

If you search for NP8662 on ebay you will find DC Motherboard Repair for 59$ + shipping even though the picture says 125$. You may have to send only the motherboard though.

It depends on why two of them burned out in the first place. If you're having electrical issues like surges, put the laptop behind a surge suppressor. It's strange that two jacks would burn out so close together.

They didn't tell me what was wrong just a price. They tried to plug a universal adapter in it and it starte sparking, If that means anything. And my girlfriends computer is plugged into the same outlet and it's fine.
