I finally pulled the trigger on this one. I had the hardest time deciding between the 5793 and 9262. In the end, the portability won out over the desktop processor goodness. I chose the following:

    570ru

    1900x1200
    T9300
2gb ram (will but 4gb from newegg probably)
    8800m-gtx
120 gb 7200 drive (thinking about the 200gb version from newegg/tigerdirect)

Let's hope no problems out of the box when I receive it.

Thanks for all the information on the forums guys (gals)!

By the way nirvana0001, I was so tempted by the Macbook Pro. If they only offered a gamer's notebook with an 8800m-gtx.

Congratulations. :) The NP5793 really is a great machine and you made an excellent choice. Sager is a reliable company.

My Sager is over 2.5 years old and still going strong, never had any problems. I hope you have the same type of experience.

    Hi Chaz,

Can't thank you enough for the reviews and the helpful answers from the moderators on the forum. I was very close to choosing the 9262 for the performance bump.

Embarrased to say that the battery power advantage and the aesthetics of the 5793 won me over. Hoping that Eurocom where I bought it from is reliable enough. There price beat all the American resellers I was looking at.

This is one of the best tech forums I have been on.

    He didn`t get an OS.
That`s about the price others have it at also, especially with price match.

Ahh, that would make sense. Still a great price for such a great machine, though.

Yeah I already have an OS copy. And since its in Canada no sales tax. The other difference is Eurocom lets you order it without bluetooth and built in camera which i never use anyway so that saves about $130.

You are right about these forums; they are awesome for their knowledgeable members and the reviews! My NP5793 comes in tomorrow! Before I found this site I was looking into the Dell M1730, I got almost the same setup for much less! :D

Just curious Albald, but since you bought the 8800M GTX, did the company you bought from not give you the extra 2gig of ram for $35?

^^ i believe that is a sager special.. so not all resellers will offer that unless they are selling a "sager" branded system. i am not sure but i dont think rjtech offers that either but i could be wrong

    Hi Akakios,

I did not ask for it since I orederd online from www.eurocom.com. Their price is about $250 to $300 cheaper than the American retailers that I went to. Now you do get what you for:

    1) Bluetooth not included in my build (I wanted to save the $)
    2) Webcam not included in my build (Again I wanted to save the $)
    3) The American resellers offer 3 years free labor (I wanted this but was not willing to pay for it)
    4) I had to pay for shipping which some of the American resellers threw in for free
    5) Reseller rating for Eurocom is lower than smaller american resellers, not as important to me, however, I do like the fact that Eurocom has been around for quite awhile. Most on these forums value the better reported service of American resellers.
    6) Eurocom memory upgrade prices are about $200 which is crazy high. I might upgrade from newegg between $50 to $60. The thing is if run 32 bit Vista I am not sure what the point would be.

Hope that helps you understand my choices. Feel free to ask me any questions if you have them.

Ahh, right, that is a Sager thing. I understand what you're saying allbald, makes sense to not pay for things you don't plan on using anyway! Very cool!

Yeah I agree about the 32 bit Vista, from what i understand it doesn't recognize more than 2 gig anyway so why bother adding more?! Enjoy bud! I'm still giddy over mine!!

Thanks might still get the extra ram -- it will see 3 - 3.5 gigs or so. So its not a complete waste.
