Hi. I bought my sager np8150 3 mounths ago and so far I am very pleased with the laptop. However recently I updated my bios (with the one from the clevo site) and now the windows (which was included in the package I ordered) is not recognised as genuine. I decided to find the product key in the package they delivered to me and all I found was some Windows 7 manual and a disc inside - "Recovery dvd-rom for Windows 7 Home Premium". I would really apreciate some advices on this problem, because now it seems that I can't use a product, I have paid for.

I bought the laptop from the oficial sager site, because I live in Europe, and unfortunately once I have updated to a bios from the clevo site I can't revert back to bios from sager.

by changing the bios you effectively changed the motherboard. The windows you purchased from sager is technically an OEM install. OEM Windows installs lock themself to the first motherboard they are installed on so now you have a new motherboard as far as windows is concerned. You will need to call microsoft to resolve this most probably.

or find a way to flash back to a sager bios(can't be done)

your license key should be stuck to the bottom of your laptop, and you should just be able to reactivate without re-entering the key anyway

The online activation will probably not work so you will have to call after it fails. I've done this many times ... just play dumb on the phone ... claiming a format is always a good excuse. Works every time.

Or you could just tell them the truth - bios upgrade. You are allowed to do that you know...

This is quite common with bios updates, you've changed it enough for windows to notice, but not enough for it to see it as a different computer.
