    Hey guys...

I've been lingering, randomly posting and trying to learn a lot since I've been on here. This site is the reason I dumped my Dell, bought my Sager and bought it through XoticPC... all of which I couldn't be happier with!

Now, I went and bought the advanced version of 3Dmark06... I know I could have kept the free version, but it was only 20 bucks and.... well whatever.

Anyway, I've ran an initial test, all stock 5793 and here are my results...

Good? Bad? I've trolled the threads and seen some scores, but honestly don't know much about them. I'm not new to laptop gaming, but certainly have never gotten into tweakng and OC'ing but really would like to now. Any input at all would be appreciated. I've recently tried installing the newer video drivers, but it kept my dvd player from viewing my BluRay's so I reverted back to stock. Stats are in my sig.

Just noticed it has my resolution at 1280 X 1024... should I up that to my 1920 and run again to compare to what everyone else has? I guess my real question is my Mark Score, is it comparable to everyones? Just curious

    Thanks

its good, it can get slightly better if you disable some resource hogs.... Aero, System Restore, Drive Indexing, etc...

Shouldn't you get something like 9400-9500 on XP ? Haven't tried XP on it... And I (used to) get that much on Vista (9200 that is) ....

This is my highest score I have hit with Vista x64 with 3DMark06 Basic. To be honest, I have no idea how. I have two hard drives, each with Vista Ultimate x64 installed. As far as I can tell, the two installs are identical. They run the same drivers, the same settings, even the same background. For no reason I can determine, this one hits 9200, the other can't hit 8900. The irony is the one with the lower score has a faster hard drive, fast enough that the Experience Index gives it an extra .1 score.

I have been banging my head against this for a week. The annoying part is the higher score hard drive is not activated, and only has 7 days before it expires. The other one is activated.

faster HDD means nothing to 3DMark... since it affects load times mainly... not the performance during the benchmark.

Uh, I think you can do much better than that with your specs. Back when I wasn't overclocked, I hit around 9100 with vista 64 ultimate, and I have the same specs as you. And your resolution is fine, leave it at that res.

EDIT: I was on stock drivers BTW

Which driver is that Z? 7.15.11.6744 is what I have now. I changed some settings and redid my test. I got much closer to 9000 but still haven't touched it.

I have figured out the 174.33 drivers from Clevo's site (probably at Sager too) are the 'best' for my benchmarks. For some reason if I install a different version the benchmarks drop, and even if I try to later put the 174.33's on something won't let the score go up. It seems like the other drivers are either clocking down the GPU or otherwise doing something that the card doesn't like. I re-did my Vista x64 primary hard drive and using *only* the 174.33's I am back to just over 9200.

Sub, do you have a link for that driver? When I go to either Clevo's or Sager's site, all I see are the drivers that I already listed, the 1.6744's.

    Hi Mates,
Prasad007 is right. You should get around 9100 with your specs without problems using 167.44 and easily 9150 with 174.82 from Sager. I have same specs exepct Blu Ray like you Akakios and Vista HP 64bit, try to switch off some programs and power managment to max from balanced. Your score is around 300 points low in both SM 2.0 and HDR. CPU score is ok. Mayby update also Vista with SP1 if you don't have already.
