Okay quick question, I know for many MXM GPU's the Dell ones don't work in clevo laptops but vice versa does work many times. Now I am wondering will a 980m 8gb from a 18 or whatever large Alienware laptop comes with 980m's, is it possible to just flash to prema bios and put it into a clevo? (P150EM/P370EM?)

I just seem to be seeing more and more Dell 980m cards showing up on ebay.

I feel like this is something I should know... woops.

I think it might work but just safer to get a Clevo card and then flash Prema vBIOS :D

Ya it would! That would be ideal. But but but.... I found some very nice cheap prices . . . :(, flashing vbios is easy so I might just give it a shot.

It would be nice if someone knows for sure though!

Yeah, it's easy to flash a vbios, but unfortunately just as easy to brick it. I would never flash a dell vbios on a clevo card and vice versa... You do have chances that the card might boot without flashing it though. I'm running a Dell K5000M in my Clevo x7200 with a Dell vbios (and also flashed svl7s Dell K5000M overclocking vbios) and to my delight it runs flawlessly.

There was two 980m's selling for ~950 so roughly 475 - not cheap, but the prices are going down so I was looking for options. . . but now the 1080 I think changed everything...

There is no difference between Dell and Clevo 980M cards, just flash whatever works best.

Hi Prema, does this mean that I can install a Dell 980m in a clevo p750zm without issues?
