Am i going to be able to run high PhysX on Batman AA with a single GTX 485m?

At first i figured a single gtx 485m would be enough to run Batman Arkham Asylum with high PhysX on...but now that i look up youtube videos of the game, it's looking like the only way to get stable framerates with high PhysX on is to have another card dedicated to PhysX.

So how will i fare with the single GTX 485m with PhysX intensive games?

I don't see you shouldn't be able to, thats a really strong card, I'm fairly certain it isn't necessary to have a card dedicated to PhsyX... my current M17x R1 has SLI, but I played arkham asylum on one card with high PsyhX on, it worked alright for me. but in the end you really just have to try it, try to get the demo on steam first

Welp, i actually already bought the game off amazon for $12, if it doesn't run ok on high physX i still wanted to play the game anyways, it's just i bought it on pc specifically for the exclusive physX stuff.

I won't be able to test it till Xotic PC builds my np8170...they've had my cleared check for over 2 weeks now and still at phase 1....SUCKS!

I have Clevo P170HM and I played yesterday Batman Arkham Asylum with PhysX enabled with maximum graphics details. Everything runs smoothly. GTX 485M contain hardware support for Physx. So no worries.

Yea i like the dynamic fog, breakable environment and movable objects...when i look at the console versions they look so empty in comparison.

First 3 games i'm testing on my 485m is Crysis maximum edition, Crysis 2, and Batman AA, So i'm gonna give it a good workout.

Could you elaborate a bit? Were PhysX on normal or high? Cause on normal it's missing a few effects during the scarecrow sequence such as crumbling buildings.

Also when you say it runs smoothly do you mean above 30 fps or 60 fps? I hope 60 fps cause 30 fps is what the console versions run at and i wanna get better performance than on console......though 30 fps would be acceptable i guess.....

Lastly, what resolution were you running at? 1080p?

That seems like an awful lot of stuff in or out of a game just with the PhysX enabled or not. I've wondered why you have such a boner for PhysX - really seems crazy to program all that extra stuff into a game and then have to disable it for the majority of users!

Does that mean the 6970m will be completely unable to run PhysX game features?

I have a boner for it cause it seems cool, better physics always intrigues me.

The 485 is the best single card available for notebooks at the moment so i do foresee any troubles playing Batman with all settings maxed. In my opinion the 6970m will be better dollar for dollar but if you want to stay on the safe side go with the 485.

Mate I had a 260m GTX and I ran it at 1080p with physx oh high. Because AA isn't a FPShooter, lower framerates are still very playable. On a 460m GTX I get way more than 30fps maybe even 60 at times. Your 485m will be no problem.

I should think that a card that maxes out Crysis II (granted only in DX9) and gives you 30-50 FPS should be able to run any other game.
Source regarding CrysisII FPS: [USER REVIEW] Sager/Clevo Horize NP8150 (P150HM)

I do not know about the PhysX capabilities of both games, but I should like to think Crysis II would be at par with Arkham Asylum, if not more demanding w.r.t. PhysX?? Or am I wrong on this??

Good to have solid confirmation too.
