This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    Well I guess it's been a couple of good day for XoticPC, as I've also submitted my order with them today :)

    1x SAGER NP9262 Ultimate Custom Laptop
    - Display: 17" WUXGA "Glare Type" Super Clear (1920x1200)
    - Processor: ~Intel Core 2 QUAD Q9450 2.6GHz
    - Video Card: 512MB PCI-Express nVidia GeForce
    - Ram: ~ 8,192MB DDR2 667 (2 SODIMMS) D
    - Primary Hard Drive: ~ 320GB 7200RPM (Serial-ATA II 300)
    - Secondary Hard Drive: ~ 500GB 5400RPM (Serial-ATA II 300)
    - Third Hard Drive: ~ 320GB 7200RPM (Serial-ATA II 300)
    - Operating System: None Standard - Drivers & Utilities
    - Software Bundle (Not Installed): None Standard

    Looking forward to running Linux on this system. I will also make a Linux review and dump all the dmidecode & lspci & lsusb stuff.

    Because this will be my work system, I wasn't looking for a over the top graphic card, I'm more interested in the CPU, Memory and the disk subsystem.

    Sorry Ogg, I'm a long time Red Hat users, since 1998 (Red Hat 5.2). I don't need to switch to Ubuntu to get a Linux system working :)

    Quad seems popular these days. 8GB ram and three HDD. Nice laptop. A beast :)

    I'd prefer Debian/GNU, Slackware, or Gentoo.
