I've had my 2090 for about 3 weeks now, no problem.
And yesterday, I started noticing that buzz that so many C2D owners have been talking about. That low power, idling CPU noise something like (tee tee tee) emanating from under my keyboard. Augh. And I thought I wouldn't have any problems like this.
I guess I'm just wondering if any other 2090 owners have had this problem? This is my second 2090 problem now...first an annoying high pitched buzz from the headphone jack (which will hopefully be fixed through my use of the Creative X-fi notebook, whenever that gets to me), and now this buzz from the keyboard. Gah. Unfortunately for me, returning the laptop is not an option.
I'm aware of the RMClock fix (well, "fix", it doesn't seem to work 100% for everyone) so I may go ahead and try to do that. At least my buzz isn't as bad as some others I've heard of, mine's just barely audible...yet audible all the same. If you put your head a few inches away from the keyboard it's clear as day, though.

Mine doesn't have problem except for infamous clicky sound for Hitachi HD but I'm used to it already
-
Are you talking about the high pitch sound some notebooks make when they run on the battery?
-
Here's the RM link. Scroll down to the CPU Clock download section for the CPU clock utility.
That is the high pitch sound, although it can occur on AC power as well as battery. If it gets to the point that it's annoying, I'd highly recommend the RMClock fix. Go to this NBR thread for exactly how to fix it (having the AC adaptor plugged in is not necessary). -

For the record I'll state that this is not an issue specific to the NP2090 or any other Sager notebook for that manner. I had a Lenovo ThinkPad with a dual-core C2D and it had the same problem. RMClock does the trick.

I'll have to try this when I get home. -
EDIT:
Also, for me, at least, it's not dependent on whether or not I'm on AC power. It happens on both battery and AC. -
Yes, RM Clock Utility 2.30. It's a very handy utility.
And yes, it's not just Sager. I have the problem on my Dell, on both battery and AC power. -
Yup...looks like RM Clock did indeed fix it.
Any disadvantages to this? I heard since it can't go into the lowest power state, it runs a bit hotter, uses a bit more power, and might cause your fan to be more active with normal use. -
count an Asus brotha in too, same problem here guys except a lot lounder(hurts my ears). 2things you can do to stop the noise, 1.disable c4 state(will eat 15-20min of your battery life) or 2. In the management tab, check OSload management & Run HLT command(rmclock will take the Idle)
Both intel and board manufactures have to work this one out. THere is no excuse.! -
I'm having this problem with my Vostro 1500 too.
Strangely, if I select Power Saver in the Vista power plan, the CPU whine completely disappears.
Select high performance or balanced and it returns.
And here comes that dreaded C2D buzz...
