    The product:

I think should be bundled with the " upgrade kit"

Is it reasonable or I'm I the only one that thinks this way???

The even more annoying thing is that not only

a)does it not support the 5.1 module from the Audigy 2 ZS notebook, but
b)it's more bulky than the old module.

i brought this up with alienware when i got my m15x and they said in not so many words "thats how it comes".
yes it would be a lot better to have both items in a bundle. also it would be a good idea if all the computer sellers have it as an option as well (even though it would be dearer from them).

so whos found the cheapest 5.1/7.1 adapter so far?

Here it is for $23 + shipping

I wonder if the computer sellers even know / knew. Before I had a request for it and searched for it, finding the " upgrade kit" first... I didn't know. I thought it was all inclusive.

It should, the plugs look the same.

Unless Creative made another devious way to profiteer.

Is the ExpressCard Sound Blaster even a true X-Fi? Creative sells the low-end X-Fi Xtreme Audio for desktops, which isn't even an X-Fi but a re-branded Audigy SE.

I am very confused. Some people say it offers no hardware acceleration whatsoever, some say it does under Windows XP, some say it is simply the Audigy 2 ZS Notebook but with an ExpressCard interface instead of PCMCIA.

I'm am so lost. It also doesn't help that I have the card but no laptop....
