Okay... again, I didn't get the 7970m, I got the 680m, but I really hate that you guys are having this problem.

Anyone want to try something real quick and see if it helps? After loading a game, go into task manager, go to the process, and change priority to Real-Time.

Normally this is not a great thing to do, and it will completely limit your ability multi-task, but it just may be that by making the computer focus solely on the game, that it will keep utilitization up.

I don't know... it just occurred to me that maybe the problem is that enduro sees the game, which needs the 7970m, but it also sees all the other processes which don't, so when it's their turn in the cycle it's trying to power down for each and every one of those non-game cycles, thus causing a huge performance hit. Let me know what happens!

Unlikely because priority in task manager has more to do with CPU than GPU.

Right, I'm not suggesting otherwise. Everything the computer does is determined by the CPU cycle, though, and every process gets a turn based on priority. The GPU doesn't act independently of this. Therefore, it's POSSIBLE that the reason enduro kicks in is because the CPU is saying "Hey we're not playing a game at this exact microsecond so you aren't needed."

    Hi,
Thank you for the suggestion but it doesn't work :( Keep giving ideas perhaps one can minimize the issue.

    Best Regards to all

Perhaps some "GPU" and "Video" related subkeys under:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Power\PowerSettings

contain settings that might be worth looking into?
