New to this forum. My son is entering college this fall and I just ordered him an NP8662 today as a graduation present (assuming senioritis doesn't get too severe that he doesn't graduate). I wanted to have time to play with it too, before he leaves this fall. Now it's hurry up and wait...

I am waiting for mine to arrive as well. I have waited quite long since I originally ordered an NP8660 and then got word about the new GTX GPU's and the motherboard upgrade for Quad support so I canceled my order.

I could have had the original by now but knew it would be better to wait for the upgraded version and now I have an NP8662, GTX260M, 3GB DDR3 (XP SP3), Q9000 2.0 Ghz Quad, 500GB HDD waiting to be shipped.

LaptopNut: I am sure it will be worth the wait. I can imagine there are a few 8660 owners that wish they waited but, hey, technology always progresses and there is always something newer and faster and usually cheaper. That's all part of the fun.

Hahaha... the 8662 will make sure he'll miss out on all the beer gardens, frat parties, and well.... first year of college! Lucky kid though :)

No ETA yet. We're getting a custom skin for the back panel so that'll add a few days.
