Any Canadians used CBI before or something similar for shipping?

CBI USA | US Mailbox Rental & US Shipping Address Services

I did some searching around and this seems like a decent way to save on Delivery costs with UPS...anyone ever used anything like this before? with the USPS no battery shipping I'm looking for a way to save on cross border UPS costs=/

I haven't used those services yet, but did look into them a few weeks ago...

You really have to do your homework to see if it's worth the trouble. Some things to think about:

-Distance, time and cost to get there from your city and back.
-You need to declare the import of merchandises to the CBSA on re-entry in Canada, and pay taxes accordingly. The penalties for failing to do so are harsh and long lasting, the highlighting is mine:

With USPS not allowing lithium battery unfortunately my cheapest shipping option costs about 225 dollars with UPS :( I live in Toronto so Niagara falls isn't too far out of the way

I could have UPS ground shipping to Niagara for around 30-40 bucks so it saves quite a bit of money!

Most of the reviews I've read on CBIUSA are quite positive. Especially from the folks over at the RFD forums.

Take the laptop components and all that stuff out of the packaging and treat it like your everyday laptop. They won't question that if they don't see it. Enough people have laptops that they don't bother.

If you want to get the box across it may get a bit trickier. You'd probably have to fill the box with clothes (possibly displace them from a suitcase) and say that you needed a spillover bag so you got the box from a friend. Another option is to fill it with a much cheaper item ($100 or so but big) but still say that you got it from a friend.

May work but it requires a good pokerface.

They get enough from everyday sales purchases/salary/house etc... that I don't think that the $350 they miss from this sale matters :)
