Just curious to see opinions on these. I know they are new, but I figured someone here might have one.

I ordered the NP8268-S with a few add ons just a few minutes ago from xotic. Seemed to be one of the best options available in my price range.

I would say any day now one will pop up. I too went with xotic and the process has definitely gone smooth.

Sorry if this is off subject. Was wondering when does your card get charged? Prior to shipping or after? Just curious. I can't remember the last time I was this excited. Seeing all the positive things being said makes me glad I chose a Sager.

Depends on where you purchase from. Typically you will get charged before production begins.

I received my NP8278-S today. It is an absolute beast. It is a little bigger and chunkier than I thought it would be. And the power brick is huge compared to what i've been used to with previous laptops. Although my other laptops weren't gaming rigs like this. So far I have played a few games like Diablo III and had everything cranked to the max setting and it played flawlessly. It is very fast with the SSD drive and the backlit keyboard is awesome. I suggest changing the color though from the default to a more ice white, or light blue color, the deafult color looked kinda gross. Try it out and you'll be thanking me for the color change. Looks so much better now! Other than that, everything seems to be working great. Make sure you use the driver disc that comes with it, and then you can go onto the intel site and use the update utility. There was a couple of newer drivers on there. The system does seem to run fairly warm, even just general browsing, the CPU fan side gets warm enough that it bothers me to have it on my lap. I think i'm going to need something under it if i want to sit on my couch and use it on my lap in future, so as I don't burn my legs and other things! I really wish it wasn't as hot as it is. I was hoping all this new technology would have been a little better with the cooling side of things. I guess with power comes heat. There's always a trade off. Such is life.

I've been eyeing this exact system (NP8268-S) for a few days now and am getting pretty close to pulling the trigger. Just doing some final research on config and where to buy. On the plus side, it looks like the resellers I've checked all have positive reviews, good support, and virtually identical pricing for this one.

I'm thinking it'll meet my needs for a 15" portable workstation / gaming system. Little concerned with build quality and other minor details that can easily get overlooked. Especially considering my recent systems have been various Dell/Alienware models. Dell just didn't have what I was looking for, so hope it works out! I'll follow-up either way. :)

I just ordered mine through XOTIC as well and can't wait. I had to sacrifice a few things to keep the price down had to take the 860m and 8 gigs of ram, but I'm still overall happy. Took me about 2 weeks of research and was on the fence between sager and MSI, will update as soon as iI get it here in about 7 days

Congrats on the order! The 860M isnt the most poweful GPU but it should still take care of most your games really well. You may just need to knock a few settings down to get good FPS. Let us know if any questions come up.

Don't be concerned. While the chassis is plastic, it's a very good quality. The matte finish can attract finger prints (I mean, your fingers have oil, and the sheen in the oil gloss the matte surface, it happens). But it's not noticeable unless you see it with light in the background and view it at an angle. A simple wipe down will fix it if it unnerves you.

The keyboard is firm and feels very nice to the fingers. It reminds me a lot of the old 101 ibm keyboard. A nice firm touch, and good response.

I type 160wpm and I've had zero ghosting or missed keys, so if there ever was ghosting on this keyboard, I don't see it. So it's either been fixed, or they have a new keyboard.

The fans are remarkably quiet. A lot of people say they were loud in the 8255 series, but I honestly barely hear it even under load in the 8258. I would assume the 8268 would be just as quiet.

I'd be curious how the fans are on the 17". Maybe soccerplayer will comment on the noise level of his fans.

I've a friend who has an alienware and other than more 'bling' and an aluminum case, I think the build quality in the sager is actually a bit better. everything fits snug together, it has a nice weight to it, it's well balanced, and seems to be well designed and put together.

Worse case, I can pretty much bet you won't be disappointed.

I concur with the previous commentator about build quality. I've owned both Sager and Alienware and the Sager simply blows the Alienwares away on build quality. I think it's possibly Sager's most overlooked but potentially strongest selling point.

I called XOTIC PC and had them upgrade to the "special edition" for about 120 USD more. (Pre ship) Upgraded the video card to the 870m the upgraded CPU to the 4810 got the 95% gamut screen upgrade and Intel wireless card. I would recommend this route as you seem to get a few upgrade discounts over just ordering the regular version and picking those upgrades. Also there is a slight backorder until 4/15. In case there are any potential 8268 shoppers out there. Sincerely excited about this laptop and will post benchmarks if anyone is interested in this particular build. I will still update with my initial thoughts and review lite. If anyone else has received one I would also like to hear from you, even though HTwingnuts review was pretty in depth and gave me a warm fuzzy about my purchase :) here is my build..

Well, I got my NP8268-S on Tuesday. Been playing with it for the last couple days, playing games and running apps that I use daily. All I can say is this I am very happy with this purchase. I got it from gentechpc. Thanks Ken for the smooth and quick process.

I'll give more of my thoughts of this laptop during the weekend after I test it out so more.
