    Hey guys

Just getting some info here for the AW forums to see if there was any problems of downclocking on the video card of any of the sager gaming systems. Dell's 1730 has no downclocking issues at all, so hopefully getting some input from sager owners.

    Thanks

Like i posted in your other post about GPU temps. So far i havent noticed any downclocking issues with my NP5793 the only time it "down clocks" is when the system is unplugged then the GPU and CPU take a step down and start throttling at half thier normal power. When plugged back in it will step back up to full speed and continue to step up or down depending on how graphic intensive the game you play is. It will also step down when you are just running simple applications except the CPU will still throttle at full.

Where as the m15x unplugged would still stay at full power depending what "performance setting" you set on the power management alienware system.

Seriously read your other post i pretty much answered this question.

There used to be an issue with changing drivers for the NP579X when you had a 8800m GTX card AND the old .07 bios. Now a lot of people have the .08 bios for their 8800m GTX's and can also install new drivers on them. Stock drivers never underclocked the 8800m GTX for that model if im not mistaken.

i havn't seen a downlock under load on my 5793. when i got mine i beat the heck out of it side by side with the m15x, same ambient temps, and the 5793 was running 20C cooler (70C peak) under load than the m15x was (90C peak with downclocking) for over an hour.
