Specifically concerned about power adapters. The brick that came with my machine appears to be the typical AC/DC adapter, and can handle the usual 100-240V, 50-60Hz range. In the past, I've just needed plug adapters for the wall and that's it. Are there are any situations one might run into where this wouldn't be enough, and you'd need some additional protection? Surge protector maybe?
I plan on traveling through Asia, as well as Australia/NZ and possibly Europe. Thinking I should be good but I'd rather ask now than run into problems later. Thanks!

I've had mine in China a few times and had no trouble.

The power consumption of even our most hungry machines is less than that of a decent powered desktop. So as long as the grid is good enough to run one of those then a notebook should be fine.

I'm using one in Sri Lanka, 230V 50Hz, 25-35c ambient and high humidity.
No issues so far. -
Hi wpsaladin2,
I live in Australia and the adapter has been working fine since 2012. I traveled through Europe for 3 months and only used a plug converter during my stay.
You can get some plug converters with surge protectors built in, either at Mediamarket in Europe or in Officeworks in Australia. -
