Alright, this was really funny... *snickers*

Prey has worked perfectly for a few days (1920x1200, maxed out, a pleasure to look at and play)... then I installed my printer (HP PSC 1500 All-in-One)... and Prey plays no more: artifacts all over the screen, from the very menu. All other games ( HL2, F.E.A.R., The Sims 2) remain perfectly playable. No other issues whatsoever.

Anyone ever experienced something like that? I swear the only thing I did was installing the printer...

Deinstall the printer and confirm it's really this... It's kinda surprising a driver could cause this...

Well, it's been a few days. Eventually I uninstalled the printer and all related software, but it did no good. So I downloaded new drivers (Forceware 92.91 from LaptopVideo2Go) and tried those. Works like a charm. :) Also getting higher scores in 3DMarks. Prey works well and also HL2 stopped misbehaving (for some reason I was getting 20 fps with stock drivers regardless of settings and resolution... weird stuff... and vsync was even disabled).

You may not like to... I'm starting to think they are what has ****ed up my video card for good, or something along those lines. See the other thread (artifacting).
