I got an NP8170 with the 580m I was wondering if there are any newer video cards released or that are going to be released that will be better?

Im also looking for a smaller AC Adapter because the one that came with the laptop is HUGE. Are there any other ones I can buy that are at least a little smaller?

The 580M will be the top of the line mobile video card for at least the next few months.

The next gen cards will have the same form factor so they should work.... with a bios update that is. :)

This is a pretty common request, but unfortunately there aren't any. People have had slim pickings for the 180w on the P150HM, let alone the 220w on this model. The big issue with going to a smaller adapter is generally that the just aren't built to the same standards. A lot of the aftermarket 180w adapters for example have been unable to provide sufficient power, or even failed outright.

It's one of those "bigger is better" type of situations. The power supply really has to be the size and heft that it is to accommodate the internals necessary for the rated output.

I'm fine with the size of the adapter, but I would LOVE for them to make an extension for the end that goes to the laptop. It's barely long enough to reach the laptop if I have the brick on the floor behind my desk.
