    Yes. I have 3 of them D87P (circa 2004), D901C (circa 2007), and a x7200 (circa 2010).

The D901C has a loose LCD cable that needs to be reset every so often, but other than that, all are working / operational.

Haven't got a warranty any more as the reseller went under, but I would generally want a computer to last 3-4 years. Too expensive to buy a new beast every year.

Kobalt in the UK. Went under end of last year. It's a shame really.

My warranty expired long ago since my laptop is 3.5 years old.

Mine is now just over 4 years old (Jan 2008) and still going strong - no problems at all with it, even after it was pulled off the dinner table by the dog!

I only went for the 1 year warranty. I upgrade too frequently. Not worth it to let your laptop get ancient and worthless. Swap out (buy; eBay old lappy) every 6-8 months and you get the best bang/buck. :)

I'd bet most of them outlast the warranty. Mine's almost 2.5 years old now. It's still going strong, but I want something new. :) Personally, I'm not sure how anybody can stand keeping one longer than this.

Got my D901C back in May '08 with a 1 year warranty. I've had no problems with it (except those I created but eventually resolved). Four years running and it's still going strong. I was hoping to have the P270WM on tap, but its delay has forced the D901C to sign up for extended duty--not that I'm worried about it failing any time soon. It's a champ!

I would definitely go for the 3 year warranty on the P270WM just for the peace of mind. Never know what could happen!

Shocking! Any idea what happened? I remember having given Kobalt Computers due consideration on purchasing my last Sager, but finally went with XoticPC!

Financial issues. Not sure of the exact detail. Still happy with the laptop though.

I have a D900K/NP9750 from the end of 2005 (last time AMD processors were better than Intel's in DTRs) that still works fine. Sure, compared to my newer P170HM3 it's bigger, louder, slower, the palm rests are permanently discolored, and the battery doesn't hold a charge, but when plugged in it still behaves the way it did on day 1. And I still like the LCD panel on the front so I can change music tracks while the lid is closed and see the time while a game or movie is fullscreen. :)

    I got it from PCTorque.

i went for the three year warranty as it was only 150 more, but havent had any problems yet, although every once in a while i will get an artefact while gaming, but then i clean the dust out of the fans and its back to normal. but i might get the 680m if thats any good, since i have a 3d tv and i really like nvidias 3d vision.

I'd hope they all outlast their warranty with maybe the couple oddballs. Good computer hardware should have no problem with 5-10 years of life. Heck even crappy hardware can often pull that. Computer support is my profession and I work for a university so we don't have the money to keep everything under warranty. We have many a system outside the 3 year warranty period going strong. I should hope nothing less from these beasts :).
