As the title states, just looking to see if anyone has any experience with Fortnax? Good or bad I would like to see a little info on how customers view their transactions. Looking for a P170 or X7200 in Canada so thought I might check them out.

All these recent posts about certain resellers have me a little gun-shy towards some of the different companies.

Thanks in advance for any help.

The owner is a well known long standing member of NBR forums and is very reputable, I would trust my money with Akimox any day of the week, order away. You have my recommendation for Fortnax. I would send him a PM, also I would stay away from the pink elephant who's name I won't mention but I will say they're a Canadian Clevo seller, but you won't see them in this forum much for a good reason. Talk to Tirenz, he has a x7200 and is a good guy, I'm sure he wouldn't mind answering questions about his experience.

I bought my NP7282 from Fortnax back in May and never looked back. I emailed Aikimox here on NBR before I bought the laptop and he was very helpful. Sager had a hiccup with the shipping and Fortnax took care of it without any cost to me.

Talk to Aikimox, he will help you out.

Has anyone else dealt with this company? I have been talking to a representative via email and want to finalize an order but I'd like to ease my mind a bit more first.

Fortnax is respected here. I think you will be taken care of with them. :)

I'm also based in Canada and so I tried to find a Canadian seller. Surprising finding is that for example from Xotic (US) you'll get it almost for the same price as from a Canadian one. And I'd say (may be wrong here) that the US seller has a better reputation.

I find the savings here comes with the no shipping cost and small discounts being provided via e-mail.

Just make sure you PM the vendors here and see what their prices are, including shipping. I'm Canadian too, also looking for a combination of best price and wanting good support. A couple US vendors offer support options with free shipping if warranty work is required, so it's worth your while to check out all the options. Many of the vendors here will give you a better deal if you ask for a quote via PM than you will get off their websites.

Is there a list anywhere of vendors who sell customized laptops? Overall I am very happy with what I am being quoted by Fortnax but figure it's always good to shop around.

I am looking for an M18x with dual crucial M4 512gb SSD's, 16gb of Kingston HyperX 1866mhz ram, and upgraded thermal paste on the processor and video cards.

I basically am looking for upgraded ram+hd in the M18x so when it arrives it comes ready to go with no upgrades for me to do.

I was liking the fact that Fortnax warrantied the parts they replaced but in my most recent emails with them they will no longer accept paypal or credit cards, only cash, wire transfer, or certified check. I was intending on using paypal.

I can't speak for them, but the reason most have stopped taking paypal is due to the fact that they've changed their terms and charge a fee to merchants for echecks.
