    Hey guys,

I have a Sager NP8672/Clevo P670SG with the 1080p matte screen. I was looking into screen upgrades well over a year ago, but there weren't really any panels on the market. Now there are some 17" laptops, like the XPS, with higher res screens. Has anyone found any panels that will/should fit my laptop? I'm looking for higher than 1080p and maybe glossy but not too picky there. Thanks!

There was at least a new 17" 120hz G-Sync 1080p Panel demoed at Computex. It was in a P775DM2 chassis which generally seems to have panel compatibility with the P670.

You will have to watch out for any cable changes with higher bandwidth displays.

Thanks for the replies. The 120hz G Sync sounds really nice actually. I'm assuming it isn't available yet, right? As for the higher bandwidth displays, I wouldn't mind doing the work to swap the cable if it's possible to do so; I feel like I've seen someone do it on a 15" model before, but maybe I'm crazy. I just need to find the actual parts lol.

I haven't seen any models available with 17 inch 120hz screens at the moment. They stopped being put in models a couple years ago and haven't quite returned yet. But they should be on the horizon, just haven't seen anything as of yet. Don't know if there are any for individual purchase yet either.

They were demo'd by Clevo at Computex last month. This included refreshed P775DM2-G, P750DM2-G and P650RS-G chassis all with Pascal GPUs as well as a bunch of other W and N models.

Thanks for the replies, that's kind of disappointing. :( Do you guys at least know of a really high quality glossy screen I could swap in?

Have a wait and see what connections etc there are and come back then.

Glossy has also been disappearing for a couple years now. Almost everything seems to be matte across most manufacturers. I'd agree with Meaker, and maybe wait a bit longer to see what is available later in the year.
