I am very close to making a decision on possibly ordering a new NP8660 notebook. What type of problems have you had with your notebook?
I normally purchase Dell notebooks primarily for their outstanding overseas business warranty support. Unfortunately, the Dell XPS 1530 doesn't offer anything close to the gpu specs that Sager does in their 15" notebooks (for my gaming addictions.) Since I travel overseas quite a bit, I would be without warranty with a Sager notebook if anything went wrong until I came back to the USA. I am trying to find out what type of problems you have had in the past with your 8660 notebook in order to give me an idea of how much of a chance I would be taking to purchase this particular Sager model? (By the way, I would plan to keep this notebook for 3-4 years if I purchased it. So long term durability and dependability would be very important to me.)
Any comments or suggestions would be greatly appreciated in order to help me make a decision.
Best regards.

got mine a few days ago, everything is great, I am really impressed!
if you've been reading the forums you'll see that a lot of people talk about excessive hd heat. That was my major concern when I bought my machine. I can tell you that after a few days of pretty hardcore gaming that its not an issue at all, so rest assured!
The only thing that I would consider is a problem is something with my cd drive.
For some reason the CD Drive is very picky on how it wants to close. I'll push it close and a second later it'll open back up. Sometimes it'll take 2-3 times tryingto close to get it stay shut. The only thing I can think of is that its somehow defective because nobody else has mentioned anything like this.
Also, i just noticed that the CD drive is pretty loud (burning a cd right now).
Other than that everything is great! -
got mine yesterday its the bomb, no problem yet expect the HDD being a little warm but that depends on wht kind of temp u keep the notebook it also once the fans starts to run on full speed the HDD temp actually stablizes around 50 which is good
no other problems whatsoever -
congrats to both of you, what a great crimbo present.
ive had mine since september and this laptop is the dogs dangley bits.
not had one problem with it yet and loving it more each day.
of course you are going to get higher temps than your everyday dell but the major panic by a few people were unfounded. my fujitsu runs at 41c and my nexus/m860tu runs at an average 48-51c and while gaming heavily it stays at 51c all the way through. (65c is when it gets critical)only time it gets to 58-60c is when its defraging which takes forever using vista so using another defrag software solves that problem. -
No problem here, one of the best laptop on the market
HDD temp, CPU whinning, these are minor inconveniences. You can read my updated review if you want more infos.
Any problems with your 8660?
