Any reseller for Sager and Clevo have a 15.4" at 1920x1200 like Dell?

    Greetings from Iraq.

Soldier serving in Iraq interested in obtaining a laptop. I have done a lot of reading on this forum. I have found the "Flawless Computer" saga quite interesting.

What I am wondering, and correct me if I am wrong, is why I can't get 1920x1200 resolution on a 15.4" from a reseller machine? Am I blind? Dell does it on their business class machines but I cant find a reseller (Sager, Clevo etc) with that option. Max I can get is 1680x1050 WSXGA+ matte. Speaking of matte, that is what I prefer.

Any suggestions or insight would be most appreciated.

    Respectfully,

    Bill Grobman

Hi William - At this time Clevo, ASUS, MSI or Compal do not have any 15.4" models with a WUXGA screen. As you stated the largest resolution currently available is the WSXGA (1680x1050)

The only one I can think of that had it ( a while back) was the Sager NP5320, that Chaz has. But it's outdated, with a Pentium M, and ATi x700, and has phased out basically.

As Justin said, currently there are none.

I am not even sure this exists on any models... Anyway I would strongly advise against that resolution on a small 15 inchers :D ...

    Thanks everyone for the replies.

After doing more research I will just have to settle for the lower resolution of 1680x1050. Such is life.

    Thanks again,

    Bill G

That's right; the 15.4" NP5320 was sold with a WUXGA option. It's old news now though, that laptop is long gone.
I believe the Sager NP3880 was also offered with a WUXGA display but that too was phased out a long time ago (Pentium M/Nvidia Go6600).

There's not a huge difference between WSXGA+ and WUXGA on a 15.4" in my opinion; I use a Dell Latitude with a WUXGA on a regular basis and my machine has WSXGA+. The latter screen is noticeably easier on the eyes for extended viewing periods.
