I'm interested in the P775DM3 but I need to evaluate the keyboard and trackpad before I can seriously consider buying one. I would also like to see the 4k display in action, if possible.
I have become familiar with the great resellers that participate on the forum here, but I live near Seattle... Can anyone think of a shop in my area that might have a P775DM3? Are there any P775DM3 based products available at the big box stores? Thanks if you have a lead!

Puget Systems used to sell notebooks based on Clevo chassis, but it looks like they've stopped doing so. The only other retailer I can think of that would even be remotely in your geographical area is Falcon Northwest, but they're in Medford, OR, which is still a long way from where you are.
Your best bet would probably be to find someone locally who might own this system and have them meet you in a public place in order to evaluate it.
I will personally tell you, having owned and returned a P775DM3, that the keyboard and trackpad are subpar. I don't think performance notebook manufacturers put a ton of thought into their keyboards and especially the trackpads. I assume that they assume most of their buyers will be using external peripherals. I can definitely understand that for the trackpad, but the keyboards should still be important.
If you want to stick with Clevo and can live with a maximum of a Core i7 6820 and GeForce GTX 1070, the P670RS has a vastly superior keyboard and slightly better trackpad than the P775. Among ultra-high-performance models, such as those available with desktop class CPUs and GTX 1080 GPUs, I'd say your best bet is something from MSI. Asus is OK - better than the P775 but not as good as the P670.
This is, of course, highly subjective, and decisions are made even more difficult because it's hard to find top-end gaming notebooks in a retail environment.Last edited: Dec 29, 2016 -
Thank you kindly. If no one near Bellevue jumps in, I may need to wait until I visit my family in southern California. They're within driving distance of a few retailers.
I've definitely been looking at MSI too. The Pascal Stealth seems to be hobbled by poor SSD performance, and the Titan seems to have poor color accuracy on the 4k display... Unless I'm getting my reviews mixed up. This is a complicated field to shop. -

A 1070 and 6820 are actually fine, so I will check out the P670RS!
(The MSI Stealth review I am remembering showed poor SSD performance with a good drive--it seemed to be an interface problem. No link handy, I'm on mobile.)
Thanks again. There's so little information on things like keyboard quality, every clue is super helpful! -
I looked at the P670RS and sadly the 1080p screen rules it out. I have a 1900x1200 laptop currently and can't stand the thought of stepping down in resolution.
While I would still love to evaluate a Clevo in person, this conversation has had me circle back to MSI in a big way. Thanks for the push!
Any retailers around Seattle have the P775DM3?
