    There has been some discussion about the topic, I don't think anybody dealing with virtual inventory will be having better sales on Boxing Day than those already in place between Black Friday and New Years. If you wait until later Q1 there will be a model change, but since they really don't keep inventory I wouldn't count on there being stock they need to dump.

    Hold on until you need a laptop, and then get the best deal you can. Right now they are pretty good, you might have to wait some months to do anything better.

    The general line is that prices are the best they've ever been. Also keep in mind everyone assumed Christmas would bring Black-Friday-like specials, but that didn't materialize. So, do what Hubris said and buy when you feel like you need to. :)

    183 was shipping alone.
    I've had many items shipped from USA, so I know how much in general I will need to pay due to taxes, but 183 shipping was the highest I've ever seen. The only exception was when I had a vendor ship me a heavy duty 2U server. That heavy thing cost me still only 120 USD for express UPS from LA.

    I just received a P150 from Malibal via UPS Worldwide Expedited (which includes brokerage) that costs $140 US I believe. I had a COD of about $85 when it was delivered, but that was GST. I'd expect prices from other vendors would be similar. Either use the postal service (which at this time of year is going to be slow) who do your brokerage for cheap, or else go for the big UPS that includes it - then you'll know all your costs up front.
