    What do you mean Intel XTU limits are really low? They offer whatever the CPU/motherboard can offer. What CPU/laptop?

    You can use Throttlestop as well, but it's also limited to the max turbo speed.

    It only lets me increase my multipliers from x34 to x36...isnt this pretty low? i7-4700MQ.

    I7-4800mq = +400mhz
    I7-4900mq = +600mhz

    4930MX = +how good is your cooling? :D

    At least unlike last gen the lowest quad does have a bit extra, which makes the 4700MQ a nice little step up from the 3630qm.

    No, it's locked into the chip itself. An unlocked bios may be able to change base clock and get another 3-5% but could cause stability issues.

    And actually in the case of the i7-4900MQ it may be the better buy than the i7-4900MX because I don't know if a system exists that could maintain much more than 4.2GHz for regular use.
