I've been having heat problems with this machine but I notice the fans always run really..silently. I was wondering if this is because they just don't kick into high gear, and if that would explain my heating problems. I want to know if there is a way to control the fan speed? Speedfan doesn't work, neither does NHC.
Also, is there a way for me to update my BIOS without getting the "Memory manager" error message?

Hi Rocafella. Fan speeds on most laptop are usually hard coded into the BIOS and are unchangeable in my experience. In this case software like Speedfan won't allow you to make changes to the fan speed. As far as updating your BIOS you would really want to update the BIOS from a bootable CD and follow the directions laid out for you by the manufacturer. Hope this helps.

It sounds like your notebook may have a physical problem if the fans are not kicking in - perhaps a faulty temperature sensor. What are your temperatures? Post them here and see what other NP2090 owners say.
As noted you won't be able to control your fans via software. The only notebooks I know of that can do that are Dells with a special utility coded specifically for those notebooks, and I am not even sure if it works on the newer Dells.
About that BIOS update - call Sager tech support and see what they say. How are you trying to update it - in Windows? I burned my BIOS update for my Sager to CD and then booted from it, it is the safest way I know of. I am unsure whether you can do that or not since my Sager is much older than yours.
Any way to control fanspeed on 2090?
