I ordered ILF90 on July 4 about 9:30 pm Eastern time. It is standard ground shipping. Mine was WXGA, anyone with experience care to estimate my laptop arrival date? Who else is waiting right now with the WXGA? I just want to know how long is this wait going to be about hehe.. I am sure many want to know too.

If it is a new order it will likely not ship for 1-2 weeks. :( This item is in heavy demand and there have been many orders of this unit ahead of July 4th that will be shipped first. The good thing is you ordered a WXGA which should secure your order within this next shipment. (98% of the orders are for the WSXGA+)

What about orders placed well before July 4, should those start to ship very soon?

All Pre-Orders placed will have the utmost priority. Sager is getting info from Compal that it will be closer to 2 weeks for them to arrive. :(

We hate to hear it as much as everyone else. :( I am sure others along with us dont put a guarantee on these shipment dates, we are providing an ETA from the info that is provided by Compal. We are doing everything in our power to get machines in ASAP. When ODM's such as Compal have these delays, there isn't much we can do unfortunately.

I completely understand, it is very frustrating encountering these delays and having to wait.

2 weeks from now? That is a long time. Once again I know it's not the resellers fault but I need my laptop before the 21st because I am going for vacation and 2 weeks from today is the 19th. :(

Did the IFL90 get bumped so they could build Dell 1520s or something? :)

I ordered June 1 when they were supposed to ship mid june. July 13th is my drop dead date because I leave for a business trip on the 15th that I'll need a reliable presentation machine for.

I don't know what I'm supposed to do. its not like there are a bunch of good alternatives to the IFL 90.

I'm thinking about just dropping to the WXGA screen, the WSXGA seems like too much trouble to be worth it at this rate.

Actually that said, the Acer 5920 might not be a bad alternative, although you're limited to a worse processor, slightly less VRAM, and WXGA.... and who knows about the build quality. However, it is availlable now, and is only $1100 at Best Buy before tax =/

This might be a dumb question...(I know they are the same laptop)
Is the delay for the Sager pre-orders or all the IFL90 preorders?

The delays are the same for everyone. The shipment gets in to bizcom in CA and then gets doled out to Sager, powernotebooks, etc.

Just a question, if I switched my order to the WXGA screen, would it speed my order any? I ordered back on June 19.

With the WXGA question, yeah it probably would, I remember Donald or Justin saying that a large majority of the pre-orders are the WSXGA+ screen.

Is dropping the resolution worth gaining 2-3 weeks of wait time though? I guess it depends on how married you were to that resolution in the first place, I was just thinking if you went to WXGA, got your notebook and then 4 days later everyone started getting the WSXGA+ screens, that would probabaly dampen your new laptop parade... :)

Well, it's not me who's impatient. It's just my parents are apprenhensive about spending $1300 two weeks ago that still hasn't arrived, and is unlikely to at this rate for the next few weeks.

I'm fine with WXGA, really. It helps to have a desktop screen that's already WSXGA+, so if I ever needed anything high-res, I'll just go to the tower. :D

Oh, I wasnt knocking the resolution or anything, I just figured Scion chose it for a reason is all.

Well, actually I normally use a 1280x1024 resolution on my desktop, so it wouldn't be much of a switch. *My desktop is old-school, P4 2.66 Ghz, Geforce4 Ti4200 ;o

But I would rather have the bigger screen if I could help it.

I'm surprised the higher resolution screen is matte than glossy. I like!
