I'd like to hear from those who are unhappy with their purchase (like me) and why? I have had loads of problems getting the processor to operate at peak ability due to restrictions in the limited Sager Bios. I've been very disappointed with the support I've received from both Sager and XoticPC. I'm now about to list my laptop for sale, I really really wish I bought from another manufacturer. It's even really hard to sell my laptop because no one wants to buy a laptop from a brand they've never heard of. Don't listen to all of these great things you hear about these laptops. If you really want a gaming laptop, go with the much cheaper ASUS's.

If I may, why are you selling your laptop and what problems have you been having?

I have an Asus and the BIOS is just as limited stock (if not more limited). For Asus you actually pay a premium for the brand name that could have gone to more performance. Asus is more expensive for the same (and usually lesser) parts.

yeah. Asus is worse, imo. cheaper, you say? doubt it. harder to upgrade, more expensive for crappier parts. no thanks.

at least explain why the support is so bad. sounds to me like someone hasn't done their homework.

I'm sorry to hear the computer did not perform as expected. Could you elaborate on the issues and the processor not working at peak ability. There are many knowledgeable people here and may be able to help you out.

Edit: I did see you posted some more info on the NP8170 owners lounge. Could you provide your computer specs here please.

Must be a joke thread since an Asus G75 with a 660M costs more than my Sager.

I've played around with both the G75 and my p-170em and like the Clevo way better.

 Actually I'm glad he didn't take alienware as an example (seriously I've already heard this though) - they're the only one able to provide the same specs as clevo - as alienware is to gaming laptops what sony vaio's/macs are to mainstream laptops. The only brand that might be cheaper than clevo if they had equivalent specs is Acer, and I'm pretty sure we'll never hear anyone say "go with the much cheaper acer". :p

Did you ask for help here or even with XoticPC? It's hard to empathize even, if you don't share what issues. I agree the BIOS is very limited but there are options.

The CPU can easily run at its peak ability using the freeware app "Throttlestop". If you have an NP9170 or flash your NP9150 BIOS with the NP9170 BIOS and have an i7-3720/40QM, i7-3820/40QM, or Ivy Bridge XM CPU you can use the Intel XTU to overclock your CPU. Asus are more expensive and more difficult to work on and good luck ever getting your Asus serviced. Say goodbye to it for a good 2-3 months.

I've owned everything from Acer to Asus to Alienware and find Clevo the absolute best performance for the dollar with a solid overall system and build. Just my $0.02.
