I've had to format 4 times now I'll install a drive and restart and windows will fail to boot. To make matters worse I couldn't get into safe more than 2 times. I think Intel rst and the clevo hotkey are the culprit. twice the hotkey stopped working and I got a message saying please make sure all drivers are installed and restart. After that the comp would have a windows error.

Sorry I typed all that on a tablet last night, is there a certain order I should be installing drivers in windows 8? Also the Hotkey utility will stop working and i'll get a message saying Please make sure all drivers are installed and restart. After that windows will have an error when booting.

I have the NP9170 (Clevo P170EM), and I have the same CPU and GPU as you. I installed Windows 8 nearly a year ago, and I have had no problems whatsoever. Everything worked right out of the box. The only thing I installed myself was the hotkey-driver from Clevo's website (and maybe the wireless driver, but I'm not sure.). For me it sounds like that there could be a problem with your hard drive or your installation media since it cannot boot?

Yes, you should install the chipset driver first as a general rule, then your Intel RST. Where are you getting the drivers from? Perhaps the issue with the hotkey utility means a bad driver.
