Nice! How is the build quality, and how loud are the fans, because I heard that they run a bit loud. Have you tested battery life yet?How long does it last if you're just doing browsing? Also, could you post benchmarks like 3dmark06 and relative gaming performance of the 8800m gtx in Crysis, UT3, etc? Thanks, that would be great :D

The build is very good. The laptop is sturdy. The screen is beautiful.

The only compaint I have is the GPU fan. The fan sounds like it is either bad or getting caught on something. SAGER had me remove the fan and put it back in. This did help, but the noise comes back as the fan runs. I will call SAGER again and request a new fan. Minor, no worries.

Another item I noticed is I believe the NP 5792 does not come with a TPM. In the manual online, it states the TPM as optional. The manual I have does not even mention the TPM. The only worry I have about this is the BIOS has a message at boot stating, "No TPM or TPM has a problem." I will call SAGER Monday and ask about this.

I ran the basic 3Dmark06. With everything stock, I got a score of 8334. At the bottom of the results, the program shows if your set-up is vista compatible. It states mine is not???? ODD. I put the exact wording below. Could it be the graphics driver? I am running Vista 64-bit.

***It is possible the reason the software is stating I am not VISTA compliant is bacause the graphics drivers are not certified by 3DMARK06***

Is Your System Ready for Windows Vista™

Unfortunately, your system does not meet the requirements for Windows Vista™. See the table below for details. Components Your System Minimum Required

    CPU Intel Core 2 2.19 GHz 32-bit (x86) processor 800 MHz

System Memory 4096 MB 512 MB

Graphics Chipset Generic VGA With 484 MB Memory DX9.x compatible With 64 MB Memory

If anyone wants, I can post pictures of the inside of the laptop. Also, I have a TS-L802A HD-DVD drive. I should know tomorrow if I can watch HD-DVD movies.

    Paladin44,

Any word on why they left this out of the 5792? Is it a plug-in, or is it integrated into the motherboard? My BIOS looks for it.

There is rarely any word on "why" the ODM decides to do what they do, and sadly this is no exception.

I would have to guess that TPM isn't in much demand on an intense gaming machine...but that is just a guess.

It is a little heavy. I would recommend a backpack to transport it around. I believe it is 8-8.5 pounds. I knew this before hand. I was tired of being tied to my desktop.

Watching my Fantasy Football leagues is much better with a laptop!!

Emblazoned, have you seen the pics earlier in th thread? WHat pics do you want?

Death, You want pics of all of the S/W, manual, etc?

Malignant, I do not know if it is single/dual lamp. I read somewhere it is most likely a single lamp. The screen is bright. I turned it down a little.

***Forgot to mention, I have PICS of the insides on the "m570ru on the way" thread.***

I received mine two days ago, Sager processed and shipped my order in two business days, I was really impressed.

Out of the box, I ran 3dMark06 and it got an 8400(ish). After some mild tweaking and using newer drivers (Sager provided these, but they weren't installed because they aren't windows certified yet) and overclocked it by 5mhz and I brought my score up to 9582.

This machine runs COD4 at 1920x1200 maximum detail, and it runs beautifully

UT3 and Crysis also look incredible, Crysis runs pretty smooth at all high settings.

My only disappointment is the speakers... I know with a laptop I'll be using headphones, but still the speaker quality is pretty quiet, and it sounds like a tin can sometimes.

Overall, I am extremely impressed with this machine, and I am glad I purchased it. Sager is the way to go with their excellent customer service.

    Fatewhispers,

Where are those drivers??? On the CD?? I only see 167.40 and 167.43 on the drive? I am looking at vista 64 though.

Another question, have yu had a problem with your GPU fan? My fan sounded like it was getting caught on something. SAGER had me remove it and reinstall. It helps, but after a while, it gets loud again.

I agree with you on the speakers...pretty weak. I have it at 100% and cannot hear very well

    Death,

    More PICS

Power brick is pretty big. Hopefully that new Nuclear power plant comes on line in Maryland soon. It provides the computer 120 Watts...20V and 6.0A

Software included is of coure the driver with adobe (for the electronic manual), PowerDVD version 7 (no not ULTRA), I had both 64 and 32 bit Vista Ultimate, Driver for the TV Tuner.

Nero 7 essentials was installed. Also, Office 2007 trial version also came included.

The Remotecontrol includes the standard and Expresscard remote (including usb cable and infrared module).

The computer does not come with bloatware. THis is nice because I spent the first day uninstalling o my last Dell I ordered.

Here is a pic of the little TV Tuner antenna. It has a mgnetic base. It also comes with w connectors; one for the small antenna, and the other for a coaxial (Cable) connection.

The last PIC is the bag that comes with your computer. When I first opened the box, I only saw the computer and the bag. All needed components are in the bag. SAGER did a NICE job packing this computer. I was IMPRESSED.

Support is always a problem if something goes wrong, personally I've been impressed with Dells after purchase Support and Replacement if there is a problem, Not sure if AW will be the same though, and I've never had to deal with Sager.

I have used Dell within companies for a while and there service has gotten alot better over the years, I rate there after sales service one of the best, NEC and a few other are very poor and just don't want to know once they have the money.

On your provided Device drivers and Utilities CD, under the pathname: D:\Vista\Drivers\01VGA\NB8E-GTX\VISTA64\40

also there are directories for Vista 32 and XP

I tried installing the drivers from laptopvideo2go, I think it was 169.25, but they didn't work out. The provided drivers work wonders.

On the Driver CD, there is an XP and Vista sub-folder. Vista has a 32 bit and 64 bit sub-folder under it.

No problems here, the cooling on this machine is leaps and bounds ahead of what my Inspiron 9300 was, and I hear no strange noises of any type.

Does anyone know where I can get some SATA drivers so I can install XP? I left mine at the office.

Look in your accessories box...you should find your media there if you ordered it with Vista. Also, if you ordered it with Vista it will already be installed.
