i might or might not be an idiot. apparently my order shows that i ordered it with nothing! stupid me, oh well.. time for a trip down to the local pc store anyway. ugh!

otherwise, everything looks to be in top shape! great packaging, no invoice is a little strange but the notebook itself is gorgeous, and the bag looks sturdy. huge power supply, but thats life! looking forward to this.

Has fan control been enabled in this version? If not, will it be possible in the future?

I reside in India.I know this might go bit off-topic initially. But read till the end ,as i seek a reply on the same.I had been waiting for a gaming laptop since few months
Firstly,The Dell India customer guys told me that XPS M1730 would be coming in India within weeks, after it's launch worldwide, including Asia-Pacific Region.
As months passed,so it's expected launch date too!

This caught me into a major rift with those guys and I sent a complaint mail to Mr. Michael Dell.Following which I got a sorry reply from The director Of Dell India. After which I was in contact touch with the Customer relations officer-all he said after confirmation with Asia Pacific Product Design Manager that "XPS M1730i"(He dint knew what does 'i' mean in that) would be coming to India-with no timeline of it's launch,
Unfortunately till date no news about XPS M1730 coming to India-even after the refresh (ahem, dual 8800M GTXs)

<<BY the way, does anyone know who's the OEM for XPS M1730-CLEVO????<<

then I thought off shipping notebooks from abroad.Unfortunately neither of Dell sites have this option,Neither does HP(considering new 8800M GTS GPU'd HDX Dragon) nd not even Bestbuy.com(considering the new Gateway P-6831FX)

So I was left with the option to buy a Clevo NP 5793.
I would like to bring this in the notice of Gophn, that http://www.connoiseur.com are the Clevo resellers in India.
But the price they are offering is more than 850US dollars than for same specced as on XoticPc.com
So, Iam left with an option to import it from US(XOTIC PC) but Iam not clear with the terms of the Customs Duty.I Mean importing it in Parts would be better(Barebones) as one of my friend order deskttop components but didnt attract any,or meagre customs Duty.
And I really dont understand how''ll the customs duty collected from me If FED-ex Or UPS or whatever be the medium, ships the order at my Home.

I would still like to have XPS M1730 if possible sumhow. But considering my interaction with dell guys,it seems I would have to go with clevo.Iam dire neeeeeed of some serious advise from NBR members on the same!!!!!!!!

    Exactly what is your question?

If you are asking about Customs in India, ask Customs in India...they will be the ONLY ones to be able to give you accurate advice.

If you are asking about something else, please be concise and specific.

Actually, the OP might also try asking FedEx in India how they handle the customs duty since they would be the company to bring the computer through Indian customs and would have to pay the duty at that point, so they must have a method figured out for how to get reimbursement for that duty from the end-user.
