    No wierd noise here when im the main menu.
    I got my Mass Effect from Origin, patched up and got all the dlc excluding that lame interactive comic.
    (I played the first game instead)

    Specs: Clevo P170HMx | Intel Core i7 2720QM | AMD Radeon HD 6970m | 8gb memory

    Put your ear close to the G-H-J keys and please tell me if you hear something (because i already hear it from 30-40 cm away from it). If not then i really think my mainboard has a issue ''again''.

    Sorry, i cant say i hear it at all. D;
    Is this issue happening to you only in Mass Effect 2 or does it make the sound on all of your games?

    So far i only noticed it in Mass Effect 2, in Crysis 2 i get another different sound (much lower than Mass Effect 2).

    MichelN,

    I think the sound you're getting is actually normal. My EON (an P170hm) doesn't do it, but my Alienware M17xR2 certainly does. It's very much card and model specific rather a particular unit does it or not.

    It's a phenomenon caused by resonance within the graphics card or something like that. Here's a link that explains it:

    Graphics card noise / buzzing / squealing / during high FPS - [H]ard|Forum

    My retailer said the same thing but i wonder why DEagleson with the same notebook (i assume) does not have it. Ingame you don't hear it (while it is there but softer) but in the main menu you can hear it correctly.

    Might be because i got a HD 6970m and you got a GTX 485m?
    I dont know any other explanation cause other than that our notebooks are probably identical. D;

    It's not the fan speed i am talking about, it's that irritating noice in that game.
