    Hey there!

Finally got my bracket from Justin and bought a nice Seagate 160 gigger that will eventually go in as my main drive.

BUT, as soon as I insert the bracket in the bay the computer goes off instantly and won't start up again. I remove the HDD bracket and I am fine.

Updated the BIOS to the latest did nothing
Activated the RAID function in the BIOS did nothing

Defective interface card in the bracket?

you can't hotswap, you need to turn of computer, take out dvd drive, put in the new harddrive and then turn it back on.

    I'll agree with Harry.

You need to fully power down the notebook before switching the optical drive with the optical bay HDD.

If you continue to try and hot-swap (while its on), the system will get damaged... by shorting.

It goes for around $30. You can order it through most Clevo vendors/resellers.

Thanks but I know it's not hotswappable. The thing is the system won't even start with the bracket in...

Guess i'll have to return the damn thing :). The notebook not the bracket :(...

Most reseller here will sell the bracket for 25$. Ask Justin@xotic.
