Anyone have a 5760 with the 1680x1050 matte screen?

All the reviews I have seen have glossy screens and would like some input from anyone that is using the 1680x1050 matte. Thank you.

I personally have the glossy, but a friend of mine ordered a 5760 about a week after me and got the matte.

He said he likes the apparent "vividness" of the colors on mine with the glossy screen, but also likes that he doesn't get glare or reflections with his matte screen. Like he said, once you're involved and wrapped up in a game, you really don't notice too much either way.

On my machine, I do regret not getting the 1900x1200 to make it "future-proof", but that is just very minor. That screen only comes glossy.

    HTH!

Thanks. I pretty much have to get a matte screen. Glossy screens give me headaches. I can't walk into a public place to use my computer and turn off all the lights just to get rid of the glare/reflections.

Any ways, I just wanted to make sure that it was decent quality. I have the Dell 2005 FPW monitor and if its anything like that I will be more than satisfied.

You can get a matte screen on a 5760/M570U anywhere.

You will not be disappointed with the matte screen quality on the Sager NP5760.

Your question is rather broad ("How good is..."). What measurements are you looking for...that is, how can someone give you a specific answer to your question?

I guess one way is to give an equally broad answer. I find the screen to be well above average, and I am not aware of any leakage complaints.

    I hope that helps :)

Theres no light leakage on those screens and the viewing angles are nearly perfect. The only way it gets bad is from an extremely high or low angle. Left and right angles dont distort the image.

I've been following this thread as a newbie interested in a 570. I also get irritated by the reflections of gloss screens that my friends have, and I wonder if I would ever be able to get used to it. I guess my question would be - is there a real noticable difference in brightness between matte & gloss?

Matte is a lot easier on the eye for me, but if it is a lot dimmer, then would I be better off getting the gloss? Can someone point me in the right direction here?

The matte screen is excellent and not dim at all...I would go for it.

I guess it depends on what you mean by "future-proof". I agree with you here that the wuxga will make it future proof for HD content 1080p but for gaming, I'd have say that the wsxga would allow for better performance.

Paladin. I guess what we are wondering is if you could post some type of spec chart for these 3 screens. I think we would like to know about the differences in brightness(nits, cd2) and viewing angles of the screens.

Also is the only difference between the matte and glossy versions of the wsxga screeens, just that? glossy vs. matte?

my 5760's glossy seems to be little bit dimmer than I expected. My old compaq's matte screen seems little bit brighter.
