I bought a new 8700k laptop. Sold my desktop. Very excited, and all I’ve heard is within the next few weeks (late October early November). Has anyone heard any other rumors about a more definitive timeframe when these laptops will start heading out?

I've heard November 15th.

Wow. That really is a paper launch. Buy one the first week of October and not get it until right before Thanksgiving? Jeez. That’s a month and a half

Or have everyone crying "where are the 8th gen models"

Google searches even over a month ago clearly indicated that these new chips would be delayed as to mass production at first.
Yes they probably should have delayed the "launch" to at least the first of November. Oh well...

Ah but they wanted something to help shadow AMD.

I don’t think you can deny it’s crappy though. Almost two months from “launch” to product in hand.hmscott likes this.

Intel did have some product and more has been coming through, so more a limited launch. -
Six weeks is a long time for a preorder request to go filled when waiting on basically one part. I won’t argue it’s a limited launch as opposed to a paper launch, but I feel like we’re splitting hairs. Intel wasn’t actually ready AMD just kind of delivered on a product so Intel presses the “go” button knowing that people will tolerate this stuff. IMO.

This meant you got to see the details and performance earlier and see it coming better. Super hard launches are nice and all but they do catch people off guard.

That’s a good way to look at it I just want my laptop lol

So long as you are not promised a release date and it gets delayed and delayed I think it's fair. -

Intel is having some manufacturing challenges with LGA1151 based Coffee Lake CPUs so their shipping volumes are much lower than initially excepted. So except some delays in getting your 8700K laptop orders. Check with our Team for updates.

I think you meant "expect" rather than what you wrote, "except" => "accept".
What kind of actual vs requested quantities are you seeing for Intel 8700k deliveries? 10% delivered vs ordered?, more or less?

Pricing will vary as Eurocom will offer various configurations of the notebooks, but expect them to be on par with the previous-generation Eurocom Sky X E2-series machines available today."

will there be a noticeable performance boost from kabylake to coffeelake from 7700k --> 8700k?
I really don't understand why they went with a new motherboard, sorry but I don't see the point, besides them making money out of it. -

In multi threaded applications yes, big gains. In most games, no.Dendrit3 likes this. -
Curious: delays as in mid November or delays as in even later than that?hmscott likes this.

Depends (on the company side) who you order from, how much allocation each company gets from the available stock, how long each company has been purchasing stock for etc - then on the customer side; where you are in the order queue and other factors. There won't be delays for everyone.hmscott likes this.

All they gotta do is ship to 1 customer on 11/15...
The announced release / shipping date by Eurocom is 11/15, so delays will progress from that date.

To be fair, it says "start sales" - not "start shipping" and the article was 3 weeks ago ;-)hmscott likes this.

Ahhh, the waffling has begun
A for sale date = shipping date, otherwise it would be called a pre-order date.
If something is for sale, it should be available to actually purchase and take home right then.Last edited: Nov 2, 2017 -
Agreed. I’m actually starting to get pissed. At this point, I’m considering cancelling my order and just getting an MSI i7-7820hk equipped laptop. I’m only gaming anyway.hmscott likes this.

The chassis availability (Clevo models that is) was always the middle/end of November so this information should have been relayed to everyone. It's one of the reasons why we only started taking pre-orders a couple of days ago.
True, but this isn't click and collect - or same day drone delivery ;-)hmscott likes this. -

Exactly, we have had mid Nov clearly on the config since it went up.XMG likes this. -

We've had some shipped already. The unlocked bioses took some time, so the earliest one sent out was 29th of November. Maybe it changes nothing right now, but in the future, you sort of can look back and remember it takes time to get some things right and delays are usually only 2 weeks or so.
Anyone hear any rumors of when the new 8700k laptops will ship?
