With your Sager/Clevo. If so, what kind of GPU are you using and what kind of settings are you using?

If someone here is getting 40+ FPS with EVERYTHING maxed out that would be awesome.

I got into the DOTA 2 closed beta. The game is running a modified version of Source. (That engine from Valve is amazing.)

What Sager model are you using? As long as you have 1gb of video memory or more, you should be able to max that engine on anything above a 9800GTX. (mid to upper end cards)

Also remember that the game is in Beta, and not going to run at its max potential from debugging software in the background.

Who's your main? I play Windrunner!

My main is Morphling. I am in five-man team, we are scrimming and practicing a lot trying to get into professional Dota 2. We are going to participate in a few amateur cups/leagues soon to start.

I play position 1/hardcarry so in scrims it is mostly Antimage, Spectre, Naix, DK, Void, and Morphling. We are also trying to incorporate Bounty Hunter into our strategies but testing whether using him as a ganker or a carry is overall more effective.

Right now my computer is terrible Gateway FX laptop with 9800m GTS, it overheats all the time (goes over 100 celsius). I feel like this thing will just have a meltdown anytime. I will be buying the P170HM next month, as a birthday gift to myself.

On the 9800m GTS, I have everything turned to the lowest settings possible and I get constant FPS lag and drops to 10 or less FPS randomly. Some games I have a smooth experience and some games I have a terrible experience, tons of heat and spikes. It is terrible because it s up my farming and positioning really badly.

Well, the 560M on that p170HM will chew up and spit out the Source Engine with no problems.

the GTX 560M his roughly 300% faster than the GTS 9800M. The whole 9k series from nVidia was hot as heck because it was just a re brand of the 8k series with some extra features like 3Dvision and DX10.

The 500 series from nVidia is sitting on a whole new architecture, (Fermi) so it's cooler and more power efficient.

Happy Birthday to you, and good luck with your team!

Thank you very much, I am planning on getting the 6990m with the 72% gamut matte screen as well.

Dota 2 should be beautiful then considering that the 6990m is stronger than the GTX 560m by a fair bit as well.

    Cheers

You should have no problems. I'm running with i3-370 and 5650m video card. My sony is running with i5-2430m + 410m 1GB video. You can search google and check your video card vs those cards if you want to find out.

Depends on how you answer. I think they should accept you if you put your level as a little higher than you think. You have to lie a little, doesn't hurt. Good luck. Keep me posted? My friend is trying to get in too so we can have a 5-man team.

I already filled the survey out with steam, cant do nothing now, unless I create another steam account.

Pride : I can give you some of my pc games at the most. I am not planning to buy a beta key when the game is going to be releasing this year. Well if you sell it for 10 bucks, ill be all over it! :)

I will do more research into that. I suppose I *can* wait until April but... damn, so far away...

And I need a new laptop immediately - this one just cannot handle the games I throw at it. It is pathetically weak.

As for Dota 2, what would are you interested in trading? I will be OK with Steam trade.

How do you trade Dota 2 keys? Aren't they tied to your account?

Anyways, Dota 2 was added to my library today and I don't even like these tower defense games. Where is my Firefall beta key?!?!?!

At some point, HoN is better than LoL, but LoL has a larger playbase, but DoTA 2 is basically and purely DoTA running on the Source Engine by Valve.
