Since there is another thread like this about AOC I thought why not ask about a game I actually care about... ie. Mass Effect.

I would also be interested in Mass Effect. Seems like graphics and gameplay are awesome!
There are so many mainstream cheap titles out there that I'm just not as interested in gaming anymore than I used to. -

how is it can i get a screenshot or video

The_Observer 9262 is the best:)
Is it a FPS game?
-
no rambo, its an RPG with a third person fighting system...... king of like that star wars game that came out a hile ago on the xbox...... you were a groop of imperial commandos...
anyways its an amazing game with a really good story. It will be a trilogy.
there are FPS qualities though. I think it would be a good shoot-em-up game on its own without the rpg elements even. -

Too bad I don't have the brains for such games
-
its actually very easy. its not one of those puzzle rpg games. Its one of the very few games i would say you must play if you like video games of ANY kind. theres even driving in it!
-
and as for performance, i read a review on ign and they said that they found the graphics somewhat crisper than the 360 version and there was barely any texture load times like what there was in 360 version...... that was on a desktop GTX though on super high settings and a full HD monitor.

I will see if I can get one for hold.Anyway I don't have a gaming laptop as of now.I should wait till a new one comes in which will be about 2 weeks later.
-
i want to know how it run on the 8800mGTX anyone?
-
why can't it run on the 8800? it runs on the xbox360 and that has a gpu equivalent to a 7900gs....

I found this thread http://forum.notebookreview.com/forumdisplay.php?f=5 regarding Mass Effect on the P-6831 FX in the Gateway forum section.
The P-6831 FX has a 8800GTS gpu so results for our systems with the 8800GTX should be even better. -
-
EBE-1 no.
ARGH the reason is the Mass effect version uses way higher resolution textures and generally just looks much nicer. However I'm certain the 8800M GTX will be able to run the system no problem. The issue is will it be able to max it out and play smooth? The 360 version's graphics are not equal to the graphics maxed out on PC.
I look forward to another epic bioware experience (NWN series, KOTOR series being previous great experiences).
-
yes thats the reason it holding me back for buy any system with single 8800mGTX...cause im scare that it wont even run game that are coming out with full res and detail
-
is it really that bad to play a game not at full res and detail? sometimes, i dont even notice the differences. it is a laptop. cant expect the best. having said that though, the 8800 should ppretty much give the best on this game.
-
well dont forget...its a gaming laptops, it suppose to play everything at highest detail
-
-
Agreed 100% with bwhxeon. Much of your posts are just non-sensical ebe-1. Gaming notebooks are not 'supposed' to give you the ability to max out games details and res... this is just a nice feature if its a possibility to do. Even most new desktops cannot max out all games. You want to max out games with full res and detail? Get quad sli 9800GX2 and a Q6700 overclocked with 4 gigs ram. But with a notebook with far less power its not something you should just expect.

other notebooks on the market but it doesn't say anything about how much better.
So no, they are not supposed to play everything at highest detail.
They are only supposed to offer better gaming performance than your average mainstream laptop.
You could actually manufacture your own gaming laptop with Quad SLI 9800GX2 and when you see the
temperatures that this thing produces you'll know that gaming laptops are not supposed to play everything maxed -

LOL. Only foolish people who know of Oblivion do not know it was made by Bethesda. Oblivion is my favorite RPG of all time and bethesda are my favorite RPG dev company probably followed by KOTOR and Bioware. Although theres some modern RPGs I have yet to play like the witcher.
Oh ya and the mod scene for oblivion is absolutely insane. They have come out with some absolutely incredible stuff. Saidenstorm's dragon mount comes to mind as do all the visual ehancements... PC oblivion absolutely destroys 360 oblivion with its mods. I really cannot wait to see The Elder Scrolls V. Oh and did I forget to mention Morrowind is one of the most atmospheric games of all time? Better listen to some Jeremy Soule morrowind tracks now. -
geezz dont kill me cause i give my opinnion...
i mean, im not bashing on sager or clevo or anything...geez guys relax
9800GS2 can cook an egg, dont know if the video is real tho -
-
if you really want a max out laptop, then go for the D901c laptops. soon they will hopefull have dual sli 9800m GTX GPU's with desktop processors. weighs 11lbs though.
-
I'm playing mass effect on my 5793 with 8800gtx and it runs perfectly on all highest settings.
-
Really spires? Nice! You didn't have any save or galaxy map problems?
-
I have not got to where I can use the galaxy map quite yet, I just started playing. There are no save issues though.. No issues with anything so far. Runs totally perfect.
-
I just started playing a little (literally 10-20 minutes) Mass Effect on my 5793. What I saw was very good game play with everything maxed out. To early to get a full experience.
-
may i ask what res are you guys using?
-
I am using 1920x1200
-
Fps????????
-
I'm running this game at 1680x1050. I have no idea what my true FPS were but the game runs perfect with everything maxed.. I disabled the Dynamic Shadows, not because of performance, but because they looked bad. Very grainy and uneven. This might be fixed with a later patch.
Other than that, I only played the game for about 20-30 minutes (after touch down on the 1st planet and the firefight up to the cargo train) The game runs very smooth and my aiming felt like a FPS game. From my guestimate, my FPS were probably 50-60 at least... Felt like I was playing CS:Source with how fast the gameplay was.
My rig is a Sager 5793, Vista 64 bit Ultimate, 4 gig RAM, 8800GTX, 200GB 7200rpm. -
So far, it plays fine on my 8800 GTX.
-
At 1920x1200 with everything maxed out I get 40-50 with occasional dips to the upper 20's. If I use SetFSB and run my T9300 at 3GHz I get 50+ dipping to the mid to upper 30's.
-
Using 1920x1200. 8700GT single 725/1750/975. SLI sucks with this game. Full detail. Average 30fps. Gameplay is good.
-
I get really amazing performance with my stock 8800MGTX (it's going to be overclocked soon, but I haven't gotten to that yet). I'm also running a T9300, and overclocking it with SetFSB has given me significantly better FPS in every game I've played - typically around 10-15fps more.
This surprises me, as I expected only minor improvements in graphics intensive games.
I suspect, however, that it's related to how the FSB interacts with the PCI-E bus, with increases in FSB speed also increasing the PCI-E bus speed(hence why we can't OC our GPU's and FSB's to high levels simultaneously). I could be entirely off base there, but even minor FSB OCing has given me dramatic video performance increases.
I'm eager to try this out with Mass Effect - in fact, I think I'm going to go pick it up today -
is there any news on the new installment? mass effect story is sooooo good and original. I cant wait to see the rest. Its like kingdom hearts all over again!
Anyone play Mass Effect on 8800m GTX ?
