Anyone seen the old P180HMs out for sale?

I've been trying pretty hard to get my hands on one since they stopped making them and whathaveyou, but they seem to be super SUPER rare as far as I can see. There was one on fleabay a while back, about a year now, for a grand with 560Ms in SLI...which is laughably slow by today's pickings, but back then it was still pretty viable as far as a gaming setup goes. Still fairly viable today. However that's irrelevant~

Just curious really. I know someone on OCN who has one pretty much maxed out for specs goes, CF 6990Ms, 2920XM, 16GB RAM, etc, and still kickin' after three years.

So...anyone seen these things out there? They seem to be REALLY reliable as far as a gaming laptop goes, especially so for one that's SLI/CFX capable. o_O

I mean, Ebay had two up about a month and a half ago and they sold the DAY they were put up. So obviously it's a jewel of a laptop that catered to a very happy crowd. I never heard one complaint about the PC as a whole...yet... no one here seems to have bought one. :( Makes me sad. I still want one.

It was also a very niche machine, compared to the 15" and 17" models very few will have shipped.

Any particular reason you are after it?

NP9377 has been a really reliable model as well. You also get SLI options and even a single 970M/980M will be a great performer. Granted you will have to pay more then what you've been seeing for the P180HM.

The P180HM was so rare I didn't know it existed. I thought the P170HM and P170HM1 were the only 17" or higher models of that generation, and that the previous SLI model with 280Ms/285Ms had no successor.

If you look at the internals it was the precursor to the X7200.

That makes no sense; the D900F was the X7200's precursor, and I have a D900F sitting right next to me. Their internals looked about the same, except they finally used the 4th fan I think.

For some reason I thought it was core 2 based for a moment there, it's an iteration on the X7200 in terms of layout.

You must be thinking about the M980NU? (I have problems remembering the clevo terminology prior to the D900F, X7200 and P-series)

Ah that's the one, you can see how all of them started out with a similar layout.

It won't be available after this length of time.
