I just got my refund back from HP today and am going to order from Malibal I thought I was going to go with the Lotus w150hm but looking and reading about the 1 step higher laptops I'm seriously considering getting something else.
My question is to those with a P151HM or p150.
1. Is the fan noise really that bad?
2. How is the battery life? (web browsing)
3. Anything you want me to know or suggest?
I'm at work and will post a link to my old thread when I get home but basically I have $1200 to spend including shipping. The games I was going to play are cs, cs source, l4d2, lol, data, skyrim, cod. Now however I'm undecided if I want to play better games or newer ones.

1. What do you consider bad? The fan will almost always be running, but it's not particularly loud. It will get noisy at full speed (FN + 1) or when under high load though.
2. Battery life is 2.5-3.5 hours depending on settings. Most get ~3 hours though.
3. If you were considering playing newer games, the P150HM with the 6990 isn't much more money overall, but is nearly 2x faster than the 560m. It will be a bit outside your budget though. -
1) The cooling solution is better on the p150, but the Fan noise between the two should be very similar, depending on the amount of power is using in the system. If the system draw more power, then more heat will emit and thus fan starts to kick in to cool it down. So it really depends on your configuration, especially on CPU and GPU (mainly GPU) since those two use the most wattage.
2) A quad core + 560m may very well lies between "2.5-3.5 hr" just as Malibal #2 had mentioned. Stronger gpu like the hd 6970m or 6990m would obviously drain much quicker.
3) "2.5-3.5hr" isn't much especially for on-the-go. I would definitely recommend wall outlet for gaming. -
1. This is about as quiet as it gets short of no fan at all. I use MSI Afterburner to underclock the 560M so there are no sudden temp spikes. When gaming I can run it at stock clock and never hear a thing.
2. About 2.5 hours for me. This was before I underclocked the GPU though, so after doing that it might be closer to 3. Still terrible but hey
3. I wrote up a little review of the P151 in the subforum here, check it out.
Anyone with a P151HM?
