I just called tech support at Sager, and They say you need an external floppy drive in order to set it up because windows doesn't search for a CD to boot from the RAID drivers, only a floppy.

In Windows XP that's correct, that's the only thing I've ever used a USB floppy drive for! Your other option is to use nlite to create an XP installation disk with the RAID drivers on.

You shouldn't have any issues in Vista with a CD, USB memory stick etc etc

What! All I can say is - let's get with the present folks (Sager or Intel, whomever's responsible for relying on a fdd). I've got a bunch of old floppy disks floating around in a storage closet and, if I lived in a civilized city where I could go skeet-shooting, I'd probably be using them as high-tech pigeons.

nLite is the only thing that worked for me (XP).
I have a usb floppy and disk but the XP install still gets stuck.

Well great lol. I just installed vista onto one of my secondary drives, and I just learned that I could've used nlite....

    JUST MY LUCK lol.

Well regarding my sound problem (to those who know of it), I haven't had any stuttering or anything SO FAR. I haven't run any major apps or anything such as a game n sech, but Vista boots up a helluva lot faster than xp does. I've dual-booted btw (duh, lol).

If I can't seem to get used to Vista then I'll delete the partion and then do Nlite. It's only basic anyway (but I got it for free, it's from a reinstallation disc for a dell that is at my work, It hasn't asked for the key or anything which I was surprised at).

You will get used to Vista in no time. The layout is pretty similar once you start getting used to it. You can switch around the view tab so it looks a bit more like XP. Check out the link in Eleron's sig for improving your laptop and click on the improving Vista tab, helps you disable some unwanted programs and speed up Vista a bit. Ya and dont worry i had to reformat my comp 5 times after i got it to get it the exactly the way i wanted it..

Thx for the advice. It's not a bad set up. Well it's not like it's bad, but I'm just so used to XP UI.

Well after trying out UT3, I still had a little stuttering here and there, but NOTHING compared to XP. I was actually able to watch a Richard Pryor stand-up WHILE it was installing. Not one hiccup lol Im impressed.
