I didn't even know there were laptops that could do that without the adapter inserted. Probably because I rarely travel with battery dupes, but still.

oh you'd need the adapter connected to it, usually I'd run on both my batteries for a couple of hours at work. go back to my workstation plug in my adapter, swap batteries and move out again.

then at the end of the day charge the battery, remove and charge the other battery without unplugging the ac adapter so no shutdowns involved.

Are you trying to ask if the laptop will shut down if you remove the battery but are connected to the adapter?

As long as the laptop is plugged in, you can remove the battery without the laptop shutting off. You can then reinsert the battery and remove the charger and it will run off the battery.

I just tested this with my 8150 right now to make sure. Just make sure that the battery is locked in.

It'll work fine if you are hot swapping with the wall adapter plugged in. I've not seen any modern laptops that can't do that anymore.

Have you looked at the use's manual. Perhaps this is CYA, but here's what mine says regarding the battery:

I don't see that in the p150hm manual, but it does say to turn off the laptop first. However, it also says to do a lot of things that people normally wouldn't do in practice....

This appears in Ch 6 of the x7200 User's Manual for "Removing the Battery." I guess the x7200 has a different power system / battery than other Clevo machines. Weird.

    I'll pass:
    a) Too chicken I'd short out my battery.
    b) Only have one battery to begin with.

    ;)
