Most clevo brands offer the option of "upgrading" to having a bay caddy for $15 or so, replacing your ODD.
Edit: Just realized they are 12.7mm caddies. Something like this.

I really don't think we should be charged to swap the two considering an HDD bay w/out an actual HDD should be worth less than an ODD that's functional.

You need a 12.7mm caddy for some clevos. I had 9.5 laying around and it wouldn't fit my P151HM1. You should be able to take the front bezel off the DVD-Rom and put it on the caddy. I have one coming in this week and can take some pictures. It's not worth it IMO.

Yeah just fixed it.
What's not worth it? Doing it yourself or paying them to do it? -

They're generic, but you need to use the right size. The 12.7mm is what you want- the 9.5mm won't fit. The only problem you might run into with the generics is that the bezel from the old drive may not fit, which in turn means that it won't match the rest of the machine. Also check to make sure that the generic has a mounting hole in it so that you can attach the bracket from the optical drive that holds the retaining screw.

Are the optical bay caddies generic?
