Are there local retailers that sell Sagers/Clevos? In Northern Cali maybe?

    Hey everyone,

I've been thinking a lot about getting a Sager NP8662 like a lot of you guys. I love the specs and everything. I thought I'd be ok ordering a laptop without seeing it first, but after thinking about it for a while, I'd like to see it in person. The reason is because I use to have a Dell Inspiron 6000. It's a 15.4 laptop but it was bulky and heavy. Now I know an awesome gaming laptop won't be portable but I'm not sure I can stand such a heavy computer. The specs say it is .4 lbs lighter than the 6000 and the dimensions are a tad smaller but would really like to go see one in person. Does anyone know if there are retailers in Northern California, maybe closer to San Francisco OR Sacramento that have them on display? I tried google and the Clevo guide but couldn't find anything. How small of a niche does Clevo/Sager computers actually have. I would say I'm pretty tech savvy as well as my brother but neither of us heard of this company until I came on NBR. Thanks.

I am sort of having the same issue that you are having. I want to see a Sager up close and personal before I buy one, but no one locally seems to make them.

I've been leaning towards an Asus G50 just because of this actually.

Don't forget that there is a 30 day return policy (except shipping costs).

Maybe so, but who wants to wait for a 30 day build just to find out that they don't like it? I don't think its odd to want to put my hands on one and look at it in person before I jump in for 1.5k

it does not take 30 days to build the system.

if the system is in stock, it usually takes around a week for the build and the shipment to be received by the customer.

BoxerRumble. Ask someone local to you if you can view their Clevo in person. If you are in San Francisco, I can help you a little bit. I got a few buddies of mine in the dorm that own an older D900K and a pre-quad M860TU, as well as my M570TU.

Rjtech is based in CA. You might try contacting them and seeing if you can check out one at their shop. I bought my m570tu through them and they we very polite and helpful.

RJTech is located in Diamond Bar in Los Angeles. That would be a long journey to see a Clevo in person.

It's the same size as a 15.4 Toshiba Satellite and definitely smaller than the G50. Build quality is amazing, no comparison.

Didn't know that about RJtech. Might have to try that myself (living 15 mins from diamond bar). I know that both MSI and Sager (whom are located equally close) did not have any show rooms/allow me to look.

The OP mentioned the 8662, which is the same model that i'm considering getting. Based on posts here, and on xotic pc, people have been waiting up to a month for theirs. I probably should have clarified what I was talking about. One way or the other, it would probably be several weeks if I ordered today.

Just don't get sweet-talked into buying one in California, because you'll be paying your state and local sales taxes on top of the purchase price (incl. the shipping costs), unless, of course, they're willing to make you whole on those sales taxes. :D
