I recently purchased aNP6873. It runs Windows 10 which is new to me and I'm not sure how to troubleshoot some problems I'm having.

The first problem is the intermittent fingerprint reader. Sometimes it works fine and then other times, namely after being a sleep overnight it won't register that I'm trying to scan my finger. Even after selecting the sign in option of scanning fingerprint it does not register I'm scanning and I must instead enter a password.

The second issue is the earphone port. It's hit or miss too when plugging in earphones. Sometimes it will notice and switch to earphones other times it won't.

If I go to Realtek Audio Console, then to Device Advanced Settings I can see that it recognizes that my earphones are plugged in but it's still pumping sound out of the PC speakers. If I unplug and replug my earphones in while in Advanced Settings it will recognize all of that and then push the sound to the earphones.

    Any suggestions?

basicially driver bugs, I had the same with realtek, solved it by literally making my own custom drivers.

See if you can find newer drivers.

With how aggressive Windows 10 updates have been, finding the right driver sometimes takes some trial and error. Try updating or rolling back said device drivers, depending on what you currently have.

Moisture can play havoc with finger print sensors, when it's cold you can get condensation.
