This thread is created to solve some questions the new members / old members may have to ask the resellers.
I've noticed many threads asking if certain options were available, or a simple shout out asking if a reseller did a service, etc. etc, and I thought this thread may be helpful for those that are looking for broad options as to what resellers provide and what the customer expects from the resellers.
I will NOT merge the previous created threads, but I will merge the threads that involve certain questions like :
" Does xx company offer this? "
" Barebones options from who? "
...
This will be helpful for those who don't have the time to look at all the threads related to the questions they have, and want to ask the "general" resellers on comparison of services, cheapest international shipping options; they can simply post here and the resellers can participate in this thread to explain what they offer.
* When asking for actual quotes, builds, and cash discounts and such,
DO NOT use this thread; use Private Messaging as it may be sensitive information for each and every reseller as well as the customer. *

Wouldn't making 1 big thread containing all the resellers with a NBR account. I would see that as a solution. People are extremely lazy as to using the search/member list button (know that from myself too).
A list of all the resellers on NBR and a link to their website, that shouldn't be problem should it? I could make something like that if it sounds positive enough. -
Thank you Ryan! This may make it easier. ^_^
Now, do you have a thread for thermal questions? Could we please get one of those as well? -
I've put together a list of the US / Canada resellers here active on the forums so that it would be easier to contact them and ask for quotes.

Good job, this should indeed make the life of other people easier! +1 REP

Let me be one of the first to post a question in here then.
First off, I know Xotic lets you skin your lid, but I'd rather support Mythlogic if I could as they are located in the same state as me and God knows our economy needs all the boosting it can get, and I could go pick up my PC when it's ready instead of having to wait for shipping. So, does Mythlogic offer a similar service, other than just paint jobs?
Secondly, if I wanted to use an image I found on the internet I like, is it OK for me to use that, provided I ask the orginal creator first? Given that it would be for my own personal computer, I don't see it being much of an issue, but I wanted to know. Any of you can feel free to let me know on this one.
Looking to buy a Sager NP6110 in a few months once I save up the cash, just want a custom skin on it, and all you retailers on here seem like a good bet to be honest. Thank you all for the time. It really is something to see companies like yours reaching out to the community. It's something that is usually lacking in businesses these days. -
Hey
We can do a skin also, just shoot us the image of what you want and we can get you a price, they are usually of similar price.
For if you can use the image.. (I am not a lawyer) but as them and see what they say. -
Wonder how Mythlogic's skin job would compare to Xotic's.. Myth uses automotive grade paint and several layers of clear coat when they do a paint job, so I'm sure the skin will be quality as well.
@ Ryan: probably should update the OP with a link to a different Malibal rep... Assuming the others are still active..? I think I've seen one or two others post here before. -
I approve of this thread. Now, Mythlogic, how come you are only offering 17 inch cases and stuff on the P150EM page? Does the P150EM not fit in the 15 inch one or something?
Also Xotic, who makes the external HDD's you sell?
One more question, if newegg is to be trusted HDD's are finally starting to go back down in price. How long until resellers start reflecting this? -
We offer 17" Sleeves for the 15" laptops because the 15" sleeves are designed for like a 15" dell, the Clevo's don't fit in them, so we offer ones that will fit =)
For HDD prices, we update prices every week, so when our suppliers drop prices we do too. -
How snug is the fit?
Hopefully the suppliers will drop the prices very soon because these on newegg look very nice...
750GB hybrid drive for $155
750GB drive for $110 -
In the 15" Sleeve? Ever see the fat man in little coat gag? It doesn't zip and it takes a good 5 minutes to work it into the sleeve and back out.
-
Fat man
Actually I was talking about the 17 inch sleeve. -
I'v got both. With the 15'', it will fit and stretch the sleeve but does take some effort taking in and out. The 17'' is not that snug but much easier to live with. Remember these machines are fatter than average.
-
Which reseller in Europe have the Sager NP9270 (Clevo P270WM) for sale, and also providing a swedish keyboard?
thanks in advance
Yes, I know there are two resellers in Sweden, but their prices are ridiculously to high. -
This one is directed to powernotebooks.com. What are your NBR discounts and offers? I cant seem to find the offers on their website but i have read somewhere that they do have some NBR member discounts. thanks.

We use OEM drives then put them in a OEM external case. The brands can vary depending on what we have on hand. -
It says in the 1st post not to ask about discounts in this thread. Resellers want you to PM them or email them for discounts. It lets them know you're interested, and discounts may or may not vary from person to person. It depends on how convincing you are, which company you choose and how much you're spending..

I live in New Zealand and am interested in purchasing from a US reseller due to the favourable exchange rate. What are shipping costs likely to be and does anyone offer shipping cover for overseas warranties?
Also, does anyone accept payment via a NZ credit card or paypal?
*edit* Silly me, I forgot to specify that I'm in the market for a W110ER. Possibly important
.
-
Cover shipping for overseas no we don't, we do have warranty repair in Australia that we work with, but I understand that NZ -> AUS isn't exactly as cheap as you would think
Also yea we'll take your NZ CC or paypal so long as all the addresses match etc. -
Well it's good to hear that you accept NZ credit cards. I've never bought something as expensive as this from overseas before and it'd be good to have the peace of mind of going through credit.
Also good to hear that you have Australian warranty repairs. It'll still probably be pricey but probably not as bad as shipping to the US.
Do you have a ballpark figure for shipping a W110ER to NZ? -
Usually its the same as shipping to AUS, which is around $100-$125 via USPS depending on how everyone's government is feeling at any given moment.
-
i'm from california and the california tax is a huge killer for me especially when it comes to buying a pricey notebook. are there any resellers that don't add on california tax?
-
Companies only have to collect sales tax for the states they're located in... so only companies who are located in California will charge California Sales Tax. We're in Nevada, so we only charge sales tax for orders shipping within Nevada.
-
Are any resellers aside from Mythlogic planning to offer a matte screen option for the Clevo W110ER/Sager NP6110? If I'm going to be something for its portability, I'd prefer to be able to use it in various lighting conditions.
It's not that I don't like Mythlogic (I've never made a purchase there, actually), but I do like to shop around and compare prices when possible. -
Like many others I will be placing my order next week as the IB NDA is lifted. Until then I do have a question about the hard drive for the Sager/Clevo P150EM or P170EM.
Is it possible to order a laptop without a hard drive? I like to use my existing 2.5" hard drive and take the money that would have gone to the order and either select an upgrade for the display or select a mSATA (240 GB if available).
If this is possible, are there any caveats that I should be aware if I go this route? I'm wondering how laptop testing and the warranty would be applied to such an order. Of course components added by the user would not be part of the warranty. -
It may be best to contact the resellers you are considering to ask these questions to them a little more directly.
Each of us may have a different list of configuration options for you and we may allow special requests such as what you are asking for above.
Obviously, customer installed parts would not be covered under warranty and up to the customer on their own parts.
For testing if ordered without HDD, shops usually test with their own equipment installed to make sure the OS and drivers all load and function properly and test the components of the laptop before being sent out. After testing the components and verifying everything works, the shop HDD is simply removed and laptop is packed up without the drives. -
You should be able to order without a hard drive. You're better off using the savings for a screen upgrade since a 240GB msata is $400..
Newegg.com - Mushkin Enhanced Atlas Series MKNSSDAT240GB-DX mSATA 240GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)
They'd have a test hard drive, load up an OS, and test the components.. They'll supply you with a driver's disc. -
Thanks for the input guys. It was quite helpful.
-
I'm not sure about the other resellers but I know Mythlogic will sell you the laptop without the drive and will offer to install your drive if you ship it to them or have it shipped to them(depending on if you have it in your possession) as I am having them do that with my w110er. I have a Intel 320 drive that I want to use and I just shipped it to them and they are going to install it at no extra cost and configure windows the same version of windows that I already have a key for via my student purchase plan.

Hello guys is it possible to order a clevo laptop with spanish keyboard? Is there a fee for this modification?
-
Yes, and $50
-
So If I buy one, I wouldn't actually know what it looks like until I get it?
-
MALIBAL and Mythlogic can do this for you.
-
Yes, we can do this - however - the New Spanish backlit keyboards won't be available for about another month.
-
Support.3@XOTIC PC Company Representative
We can also special order these upon request. We dont have it listed on the configuration page though.
I can send you a pic of what it looks like, PM me your email info and i'll shoot over an image. -
What kind of RAM do Malibal or XoticPC use in their default 1600MHz kits on the P150EM? I was thinking of buying another 8GB separately from the laptop and wanted to make sure it was all the same kind. I'm looking at the 2x4GB stick set of Corsair Vengeance at 1600MHz.
-
Err... I just realized I have no idea how to send PM's...
So, for Mythlogic, when ordering, is it recommended to order online or by phone? If I didn't miss out on anything I'd rather do it online, but I'm just checking. -
You get to hear the sound of their voice but other then that ordering online is the way to go.
-
PM Someone, just click their name and hit send Private message. For ordering online or over the phone, yea your choice.
-
Great, fabulous. Going to order tonight or tomorrow, then, just need to make sure I don't forget anything in my excitement.
-
Are there any SSDs besides the intel available (OSZ, CRUCIAL, PATRIOT, KINGSTON)?
-
Has anyone noticed that XoticPC has yet to post the prices of their configured Clevo based laptops with IB while other resellers like Malibal and Mythlogic already have?
I'm very disappointed! I'm seriously considering cancelling my order and going with a reputable competitor! -
DeutschPantherV Notebook Consultant
I was surprised too. Some of the other resellers have also done a few nice updates to their websites.
-
Of course, we offer Patriot, Crucial, Plextor, Intel, Samsung SSD's
-
Mythlogic offers a whole bunch. Personally I'd recommend crucial or samsung. It might be cheaper to buy from newegg and install yourself, though, there's currently a spectacular $1/GB sale on the 256GB crucial going on.
-
This may sound like an odd request but could one of the resellers give the model numbers for the fans used in the W150ER, P151EM, and P150EM? I'd like to compare them with previous models and reviews. Thanks!
-
Xotic talked about how the fans compared to the ones in the P150HM in their video review, I think they said they were bigger. Watch that, maybe?
-
Yo resellers, would someone be willing to shed some light on this rumor about the P270WM being cancelled? It's scaring some people and could start a flame war.
a topic about the P270WM -
Same fans
P270WM isn't cancelled, just delayed. We've been trying to clear it up on the Owner thread as much as we can =)
