Just yesterday I saw a g53 at costco and the 1080p display looked pretty good. Since this is the only 15" 1080p display I have experience with, and i'm really interested in a sager np8130, i was hoping maybe someone here has seen both displays and can compare them for me? If there of equal quality that would make my decision on choosing a sager that much easier.

I absolutely love the screen on the 8130. I have a 26" external monitor I planned on using for movies but this is way sharper/crisper. Don't let the screen options thread fool you, the colors are vibrant for the standard matte. This is my opinion going from a budget external to this lovely screen. I'd be interested to see how people gauge this screen when they can compare it to expensive ones. Even so, I couldn't imagine anyone not liking this screen, especially as a base option for a laptop this well priced.

I actually think the 8130 has one of the better stock screens that I have seen. I have seen the upgrade options and they are noticeably better when it comes to things like color, but that may not be a big concern to some.

The 8130 screen was one reason I was planning to get the 8130 over the 8150, the non-rubber-coating another...

I feel $200 is a lot for the 95% gamut screen when the 8130 has a really good matte screen, but that's me...

The screen is great, and beautiful. Not a single gripe so far at all. Everything is small, and that will take some getting use to, but brightness wise, compared to my old laptop, 1/3 brightness is a on the Sager is about as bright as my othe laptop maxed, and max brightness is a tadbit blinding, so I only keep it set half brightness. Idk abought Asus, but I'm sure it is pretty too. This screen is supposed to be matte, but it feels as colorful as my last laptops glossy screen, but with this I hardly get any reflection.
